I can't see how he rates diskin deserving a contract more than Langley. They both spend a lot of time injured . But when on. The field Langley easily the better defender and does more work in my opinion .

Depending on who replacements are,I don't think this is a bad thing.Langleys work rate is as good as anyone's but he can't help the team when he's sat in the stands as often as he is.When he signed his last contract I reckon he would of been one of the top earners so hopefully we can get a decent replacement,or maybe we already have Carvell,Ferguson for Langley and Whitehead

Thing is with lest range likely to leave we don't want to lose both senior hookers at once so keeping disk in makes sense. It's not a direct comparison with Langley where we have more options in his position. It says we may offer him something later, presumably if both Donna and addy turn down our offers. Again makes sense to prioritise the younger players.

I guess it may come down to the cost of contract, I'd imagine Diskins is reduced where Langley's may not be. FC has got to make a decision about his funds available and where best it needs spending. Langley does the hard yards but the one thing that frustrates me is his passing and off load game.

That is a bold move by FC to not offer your longest serving player a new contract.
The Diskin thing has already been discussed, I think that is just a case of FC covering the position if Heath chooses to leave. O Brien will step up next season, and not before time too.

Great news that Donno has been offered a deal, I just hope he signs it!

Still no mention of several other players ooc at the end of this season - Scruton? Kearney? We could end up with an even smaller squad than the one we have now if we aren't careful.

Edit: Forget Scruton, he's signed up to 2014. Not sure why I thought he was ooc. Relief!

Langley - Tigers bound ?

Reading between the lines of the article it seems like FC has prioritised Donaldson over and above Langley

That works for me. Donaldson is the future for the Bulls at loose forward

If Donno maintains the improvement he's shown in the last few weeks he's well worth a new deal. However his injury record is worse than Langley's so I hope he's had his share now.

Langley's been a great servant to the club. He's still well capable of doing a job but I suspect he's on a fair bit and the club aren't willing to offer anything like that any more.

With the doubt over L'Estrange it's obvious why Diskin was re-signed. With O'Brien more than ready to come in we should be fine at hooker, if needs be with have Conroy to add cover too.

The major holes in the squad seem to me to be in the pack if we lose Langley, the centre (particularly if Blythe goes along with Lulia) and at halfback cover (if Addy's definitely gone). FC has some work to do to cover those gaps.

Walker has clearly done more than Langley to earn a new deal.

Remember Walker and Langley would command vastly different salaries.

I'd guess Langers is one of the higher wages in the club at the moment, given the time he's been here.

Although when fit Langley is a huge asset, too many injuries these past couple of years plus being a high earner I think FC has made the right decision. Diskin on the other hand
