| So, 2nd to last home game of the season.
Now, I expect us to win, however Swinton are only 1 point off of the top 4 so may likely be up for the game to push for a chance at the extra games/revenue.
However, as we 102-24 in terms of aggregate score for the season, then we might likely be on for another Oldham style performance

| Since we've already finished top, we're at home and Swinton are one of the worst teams in the "competition" (term used loosely), I personally would use this game to give 2 or 3 of the young lads a half-decent amount of game time. Get Liam Kirk in there to replace the limped off Lauaki, Josh Rickett instead of Danny Williams who's leaving anyway, and maybe one of the other two lads who haven't had a game yet too.
Otherwise there's even less interest in this game than the previous ones in this tin pot trophy.

| Swinton are supposedly resting players for this game as they haven't targetted a win in it.
Seems silly to me, but that's what I've heard from one of their current players.

| Well it's a ready made excuse if they get stuffed, but I'd guess they consider games against Whitehaven, Worky and Oldham to be their real priority as the drop is surely their biggest worry.

| Hopefully a chance for Kirk and Rickett to get a debut.

13554.jpg The phrase politically correct is in itself politcally incorrect so should be rephrased politically stupid!

I got that impression from Rohan on the post match interview that 4 or 5 youngsters would be in the mix somewhere this coming week
Hopefully he does that

Not that big a worry. They only need one more win to guarantee safety. Or even not win at all, as long as both Whitehaven & Workington don't win every one of their remaining games. It's pretty much a foregone conclusion already.

| Who was the big lad that warmed up as 18th man at Dewsbury? Was that Kirk? Seemed a bit big to be a winger (Rickett).

| Liam Kirk by the sound of it. He's a very big unit.

In which case their reasons for changing the team are probably in line with ours - to give some youngsters a run-out and see where they stand for next year. It seems to be a 'no worries' game for both clubs so the intensity will be interesting, though there seems to much mentioning of going through the shield unbeaten from the Bulls, so maybe they won't take their foot of f the gas..

| It's a dead rubber. In our case, though, Rohan needs all the time he can get to begin the process of building for next season, yes he's started (and bloody well) but he's just scratched the surface, and probably doesn't even know all the young lads' names yet! So, whereas a game may be a dead rubber for the club, it is anything but that for a player, who is not guaranteed a first team spot (and some who may never have had one). that's why i can see us being more competitive than your average dead rubber, we have a lot of newcomers and maybe some to blood, and the tendency ought to be for them to do their damndest to make the most of any opportunity to impress the new boss.
Therefore whichever team we put out, I'm expecting us to put at least 50 on Swinton, assuming our creative trio all take the field for much of the game. Will be interesting to see what role young Keyes fills in the coming games, that lad looks very promising to me.

| Liam Kirk, Ross Oakes, Josh Rickett & Brandan Wilkinson are all playing for the U19s tonight. No James Bentley or Brandon Pickersgill though. Unless the latter two are injured, perhaps that's a sign they may be playing Sunday?

| Could be a good call that.
James Bentley in particular is in with a good chance.
