| So, here we go. Levelling up money. It has not yet been awarded but the plan for Bradford South involves an Odsal redevelopment. I've collected some of the pertinent links, including today's T&A.
rlCouncil Prospectus May'22rl
The council's overview of why Bradford district will deliver more levelling up stuff per £££ invested.
rlBradfordzone-more detailrl
rlT&A front page - focussing on Stadium rebuildrl
rlLast year's successful bid - Squire Lane Enterprise centrerl
The council have prepared bids for all 5 Bradford District wards. We tried a stadium with Tesco as a partner - failed. The council needs to take the lead, and seems to be doing so.

| I thought we were up to version 14.4 now to be honest
On a serious note, im a bit of a stadium nerd. In todays day and age there is absute zero need to build a new ground with fans so far away from the pitch if the are behind the sticks. Absolute terrible design on that front. The rest doent look too shabby tho!

| The talk of a new stadium development didn't Omar Khan once have plans to develop the ground and turn the pitch to face the stand so it would be behind the posts or have I got it wrong.

| Not pinning any hopes on levelling up money with a recession around the corner and the two prospective PMs not exactly being on the front rank of heavyweight politicians.
Bradford South is a Labour marginal so could be a chance that the new PM might want to pump some money in if they think it would buy a few votes. Can see them more likely to put it into Tory marginals like Keighley.
Nice to see a new artists impression of Odsal, it's been a few years since we had one.

| I’m sure this is just seed money they’re applying for. The rfl still seem really keen for a national stadium - how much infrastructure money did they get for the World Cup? £12m? Council are pushing for this to be a community asset to help with childhood activity & health so that should draw some public health funds. Do the FA have infrastructure money that City could use if the council are really offering City a slot in the multi sport stadium?

| I can't see City ever moving from Valley Parade, there's too many memories for that to happen.

| I wouldn’t get too excited given the state of the current climate and the recession on the horizon. Bradford also isn’t a popular area to throw cash at as we’ve seen time and again over the years.
BUT my god if it came off… plus it is exactly the type of thing that Nigel would ride on the coat tails of. Let’s be honest, he usually ends up landing on top (queue weight based jokes…)

| The good thing is we are all so jaded and cynical these days, none of us will be getting our hopes up.

100%. You only have to look at the lack of exciment amnongst the Bulls comunity since the image was released. Id say it barely even caused a ripple. We are all to long in the tooth now to give a toss about another pie in the sky scheme. Ill start and get interested once we see the bulldozers moving in.
