| I couldn't tell the players apart, but I think it kicked off because a Bulls player threw a punch in the tackle. How the final decision ended up being to sin bin a giants player is beyond me.

| Ref and Touch Judges discussed what they saw and made their decision.Penalty to Bulls. This will be reviwed at Red Hall tomorrow and several Bulls players will be cited, to be suspended on Tuesday for numerous matches. At least thats whats happened in past weeks.

I thought it was him too, punch or swinging arm although I'm not sure there's a difference

| How I saw the unsavoury incident.
Whitehead tackles Brough hard into the ground and perhaps exercises too much physical pressure.
Brough reacts by lashing out at Whitehead in the tackle, Crabtree and O'Donnell react by running in and land blows on Hargreaves and Langley, who've also run in to defend young Elliot.
Cue Murphy and Lulia having a head to before Crabtree grabs Whitehead and pulls him away.
Officials now on the scene trying to break up the crowd of adrenaline pumped up players.
While officials comparing visual evidence - un-sighted Huddersfield player empties the contents of his water bottle over Langley.
O'Donnell then sent for ten minutes for punching.

| Tell you what though, it's good to see our lads getting stuck in on a regular basis. I said on the firm we've been in more brawls this season than the past 5 years. Bateman, Manese and Elima bring some mongrel to this side, which we've been sadly lacking. I really like it and it's good to see.

Hargreaves started it on the blindside from your view point Mick.

| First punch from a Bulls player before anyone was on the ground. I thought it was Elima, but then I was pretty fogged up at this point.

| So bulls player throws the first punch, melee ensues, result? Penalty bradford and huddersfield player binned, and we thought alibert gave you guys nothing? I agree that LOD should have walked for running in, but so should the bulls player for starting it all

Wasn't a punch more a stiff arm.

| Illegal/dangerous challenge then? But yet he chooses to penalise the other side for reacting? Surely you penalise the offence not the outcome?

| As I remember it the Hudds player was bent over and driving his legs and the Bradford player responsible was already in contact. It was a kind of rabbit punch aimed either at the midriff of the player or the ball.
Unfortunately for O'Donnell he had to run ten metres to react so his act was far more conspicuous. It's not all that unusual for the reaction to be punished more than the provocation though.
I think we can all agree Alibert was on a different planet today. More than once I thought he gave something because the crowd shouted for it, and he only did it cos he didn't have a clue what was happening around him.
