I will continue to remember Jimmy as the best hooker I've ever seen in a Bradford shirt. I choose to pretend he never went into coaching.

To be right, Jimmy was well respected at the tykes so must have been doing something right. Course, union is nowhere near as complicated as league..

Not sure about that :/ Took us within 1 kick of promotion at the first time of asking. Played some quality RL under him. Masterminded back to back wins against Wigan and Leeds with a very depleted/demoralised squad and coached us to hammering Salford. I think his coaching was great, just one or two selection issues. Having Ferres signing players didn't help him at all. I think he'd do well with his own team.

His period in charge had its high points but very often the team did the bare minimum in games leaving us all a bit underwhelmed. He came close in 2015 and had we not had Gaskell playing injured we might have sneaked it. The less said about 2016 the better. A huge squad but no halfbacks, the most predictable rugby ever and ultimately he was unable to get anything out of the team.

His temprement made him a highly effective player but a lousy coach. He'll never win anything by bullying folk.
As for his attitude to supporters - after an especially dismal performance at the Shay in 2015 I suggested he resign and return to rugby union. His response was to offer to "see me outside later". Pity it took him eight months to take my advice.

Jimmy was a cracking player and always seemed to put 150% in every game. He gave more physically (and probably more mentally) for the Bulls than the majority of us could have done in his boots.

It is understandable that his time coaching our beloved Bradford Bulls is not held in high regard; but if we (collectively) had landed that last kick he could have been our Knight in shining armour (& you could argue that we might not have found ourselves in our current predicament).

That aside; I passionately detest bullys and if that was his style, I'm sorry for anyone that may have been one of his victims.

His response to TPk is not professional but most coaches have to put up with a lot of abuse from fans and it cant be easy when someone tells you that you should resign because you're no good at your job - I'm sure he was as much annoyed with that performance as us fans were.

I wish he'd have told Danny Addy to run it rather than go for the kick - but thats history and I remember Jimmy for the many highlights as a player, not his short time as our coach.

The phrase politically correct is in itself politcally incorrect so should be rephrased politically stupid! If you like old type radio comedy/ dramas etc listen to //pumpkinfm.com/ Statistically speaking you have a better chance of getting dead the older you get! Thank god only when you find a religion that passes the truth test!:13554.jpg

It's not a new job it's the one he had before coming the Bulls Coach, Gary Hetherington wouldn't have him back if he hadn't done ok last time round!

I was next to this incident at the shay as I had gone to the front to clap the lads off from the final game of the season (which was effectively a dead rubber as we had already qualified for the middle 8's).

If you are the fan from that incident then you left out the part when you stood at the front giving all the players the fingers and shouting the odds at each of them with a very red face... you turned the abuse to Jimmy who came over to discuss with you and he tried to discuss the dead rubber fixture before making that comment about seeing you outside.

Granted Jimmy shouldn't have said that but the full picture if you will please...

Jimmy seemed to be a victim of circumstance in the 'helping hand' from ferres and injuries to Gaskell. If he can put his work ethic in his players he will do very well as a coach but he's not going to be a coach to put an arm around a player which is probably he down fall

Interesting that people these days like to play the victim without recognizing their actions and how that might have contributed to the situation.

And so he shouldn't. These players are getting paid a lot to play. They shouldn't need a arm around them, okay if they have played really well and been beaten then fair enough an arm around them, but at times we played poor. Lowes approach to not putting his arm around them is right, if players need that then maybe they are in the wrong profession. I know a lot of our bosses wouldn't be like this if we did our jobs poorly. Lowes main problem was that he acted more like a friend to the players, rather than a boss.
