| Buried at the bottom on today's story about Ferguson and the World Cup in today's T&A is mention that we've come to a settlement over Kopczak. As I'm on my phone I can't link it, but I'm sure someone else can.
Basically we're getting loan players. One would hope at no cost to ourselves.

| That's the settlement between Bradford and Huddersfield but I would like to think that the governing body would also hand out punishments to clubs/players who deliberately lie during an investigation.

| I am relieved that a settlement between Bradford & Huddersfield has been negotiated without recourse to other remedies - legal or otherwise - which might have become acrimonious and diverting.
For our part we can now concentrate on next years squad and the challenges ahead.
The RFL will take whatever action they feel appropriate with Huddersfield. That's their problem.

| I suppose you can look at this outcome several ways. On the one hand, perhaps our cashflow situation isn't quite so dire if we're happy to settle with player loans instead? Either that or our demands for cash settlement fell on deaf ears at the RFL.
The only problem I have with this outcome is that we could potentially end up with player/s coming out on loan who don't want to be here. If it's somebody like Lawrence - who's name has been mentioned before - then he might feel slightly vexed at being shipped out from a 1st placed team to a 9th one. I guess it would then be FC's job to get him motivated.

Agree 100% with that. I've never had an issue with Hudds previously so it was a pity the whole episode occured. I for one am more than happy to draw a line under it and recommence normal relations with our chums from Fartown

I don't think any player can be 'forced' to come and as you rightly say it wouldn't work. Players have to see a benefit in going on loan and playing in SL games is a definite advantage over going on dual reg in the championship. It all depends how things are presented to the player, anyway, you never know, it may well be that we are above Hudds in the league...

www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/s ... d_on_fire/
Ludicrous that the findings on what Huddersfield did, i.e. on the allegation that a professional club lied to its governing body, are a secret. In fact, a super-secret, like a super-injunction, since we seemingly aren't even to be told officially that a decision has been made, let alone what it was. Assuming Huddersfield were found guilty, then the fact they were found to have done it, and the resulting sanctions for doing what they did should very clearly be in the public domain. Similarly if they were cleared, we should be told.
I can't think of any valid reason why it should remain a secret.

You sound surprised by a strange decision from Red Hall?

| Did we think it was something like 'Giants don't do it again, we shall tell the Bulls you will lend them a couple of players if they get injuries. They will only have a small squad cos we let you and all the others share their Sky money out cos we didn't have a clue what to do,again'

| Neither the terms of the loan(s) nor the player(s) have been given, but a couple of players free for a year would help overcome the problems of last year (and the year before) of the wheels falling off when we get a few injuries and players play out of position, if we had the four frontline props and two young props ie Evans and Fairbanks that would give more strength in depth, likewise Lawrence has an unbelievably low missed tackle rate (2011 and 2 stats) and makes a lot of tackles so would strengthen the squad wherever he played.
Whatever the RFL do re the lying, I suspect Mark and Ryan have wrung the best deal for next year out of Huddersfield.

| Who do we want (and realistically going to get) on loan?
A back and a forward? Lawrence can play in the backs and the pack and how about Larne Patrick? maybe he would be a good acquisition and realistic with Hudds signing Kaufusi?

Realistically? I can't see us getting Patrick. I think if we get Lawrence then that will be it, no more.
I'm tempted to say Fairbank, but only because of him coming here last season. The trouble with that is, he was very uninspiring the few times he actually played.

| I'd be content with Lawrence if its for the season. Would be competition in the Centres for me, i don't think we need him in the back row.
