| a 2 year extension subject to a working visa. He is also classed as federation trained and will replace Elima on that list.

He doesn't replace elima as ollie was never on either of the quotas. The new dispensation means sammut continues not to count as well.

Only thing I can think of is it dates back to when he left crusaders. We signed him before dispensations were announced on basis he would be a quota player. Maybe there's an argument that we would have given him a longer initial contract if we had known he wouldn't count on quota for duration of contract. We had to fight a long time last year to get him the dispensation at all

Whilst the law is obviously more important that sport (in terms of its application to Sammut), I am not entirely happy with this.
I don't think that we should be trying to circumnavigate the spirit of the rules to get more foreign players in the game.
Having said that, from a playing point of view, I am very happy with the resigning - I like Sammut and feel that he balances very well with Gale.

| This is our marquee signing for me, great in atack, good kicker and a semi decent defender! Injury blighted a great season for sammut and his partnership with gale will pivotal on wether we Finnish in the 8!
It's an understatemeant to say I'm happy with this!!!

| Glad we've got both halfback positions sorted out now. Sammut's capable of being great and awful, so some consistently decent performances are what he needs to aim for now.
Hopefully we'll get some news on Addy soon as he and Southernwood will be back up for the halves we've got I reckon. Last year we played 5 different players at 6 and 7, we'll need some cover for the first choice pairing.

Strongly agree !!! Feel all the OOC players need to be signed back up I still believe Donaldson still has a massive future with the club and still could be the star player he always been tipped 2 be. From the reviews also hope we sign Liam McAvoy back on a long contract come on FC carry on exciting the bulls fans

I too am very happy with this signing. He showed some real class towards the end of the season, and his partnership with Gale will be instrumental in our quest for the 8.
I only hope that Kearney doesn't get injured and he is forced to full back again as at Leeds last season.

| Kear would probably fill in there. Or Naughton depending on the opposition.

| There seems to be some confusion as to when his contract runs to. For some reason the bulls press release states it's a two year deal and then mentions him being contracted until 2015. It should have said the end of the 2014 season. Technically those two are the same, but the wrong choice of wording has now resulted in the BBC (and probably others) misinterpreting the dates and stating he is contracted until the end of the 2015 season.
Edit: I've just noticed that the bulls have actually altered their press release to say end of 2014 now

| Glad he's staying. I like to see one half-back providing structured play and one that is off-the-cuff (Dave Watson and Deryk Fox?). With Gale and Sammut it feels like we will have quite a versatile setup that can morph to suit whoever we are playing.

I thought Watson played fullback?
