According to their chairman. But "they have budgeted for it".

£500,000 that's the sort of nice round number they could ask their fans to pledge! or perhaps they will call FC and ask if we want to buy Lynch back from them

| But that means they're paying for a playing squad they can't afford and that's just wrong.
I am shocked and appalled that Hull FC are allowed to carry on in this manner. They're a disgrace to Super League and the sport of Rugby League and for the moral good of the sport and the league the RFL MUST throw them out of Super League and force them to compete in the lowest league.
Hull FC are morally and ethically WRONG and should be punished severely.

The difference between Hull is that their owner is paying for a squad they can't afford, not the taxman and local suppliers as in Bradford's case.

| There was nothing ironic in your post. Bradford should have been punished severely, the fact they weren't just shows the game is run by idiots.

| Please not another financial thread about a team in trouble (No offense FA)
I dont think i can take another 2 week arguement about who's team is the more wrong! Either way this sort of news, even if it will be swallowed by the owner is not good news at all!
We as fans should know what its like to have it stuck at us over the past months so lets not do it to other teams! But just my opinion!

The former Bradford Bulls Holdings Ltd WAS punished severely. It is now hurtling towards oblivion.
The new, totally unconnected company that the RFL has awarded the vacant franchise to started with a clean sheet and so therefore the issue of punishment should not be relevant. Because had there been a better candidate for the vacant freanchise, doubtless the RFL would have awarded it to that company and they would have taken up the franchise free of any impediment.
Yet for some reason the new company has been severely punished for the sins of the totaly unconnected old company - not even the sins of the father being visited upon the sons, moire like being visited on the fourth cousin twice removed. SO yes you are quite correct - the game is indeed run by idiots.

| Remind me again how, a few years ago, the RFL stepped in to save Hull FC from oblivion?

Never liked Kevin Costner, or any other Robbing Hood!!!!: |

| But they are the biggest club in the league in the heartland of the game, and in a truly rugby city!!!!!
how can this happen when they are getting 50,000 people every week to watch them?
seriously. the league need to do something about this. The game as a whole is unsustainable unless somebody grows some balls and really looks at clubs and spending.
perhaps investing long term in shiny new stadia, and therefore long term financial liabilities wasnt the best way forward???? The league and the way licenses are issued could be to blame as clubs have overstretched them selves to get these new grounds, thinking it would be a license to print money????
time for a serious debate. not just points scoring about who should have been booted out or not.

They did.
They made an example of Bradford, [ipour encourager les autres[/i.
Built on foundations of sand. As one day the smug fans of certain currently-bankrolled clubs will find out when its their turn to go domino.

| The problem is, making an example of us doesnt solve the unpublicised strife that some clubs are clearly already in. If we look back, we can trace our money issues to 2004, or even earlier. and everything since then has been like trying to plug holes in a dam!
the punative nature of our sanctions (although deemed not punative enough by some) cant serve as an example to the clubs in strife now because that spiral is already in existence!
The RFL will be secretly hoping that any clubs going under will happen in the off season. that way they wont have to prop the club up to fulfill its fixtures like they did with us! I am under no illusion that had we entered administration in January (like perhaps we should have done), we would have been cut adrift very quickly!
I offer a genuine and sincere hope that all of this is untrue, and that we were the only SL club in bother financially. These are dark days for our sport. the problem is that the money from sky that was going to save our sport in 1995, has simply been redirected into the pockets of players and their agents. are we going to have to face facts soon that as a sport we cannot sustain full time professionalism and compete in wage terms with the other code, and with the NRL? or is booting the mismanaged or misguided clubs out of the league with the remaining clubs getting a bigger slice of the cash, the way forward?

In my opinion we can trace the 'money troubles' back to the year 2000 and the Odsal settlement. It was the settlement which provided the means to the overspending during the very early part of this century, which in turn, along with other mistakes and the odd misfortune, led pretty directly, to the demise of Bradford Bulls Holdings Ltd.
Incidentally, I read in this mornings press that Sky are smarting a bit from the amount they are having to pay for Premier division soccer and seem pretty openly saying that cuts will have to be made 'elsewhere'. I wonder where that might be then?
