Thought I would give the low down on pubs to use for the game on 06th May for anyone who is going etc. I am actually a Orient and Broncos fan, so thought i would give the good people of the Bulls, a head start etc.


At Leyton, by Tube station, you really have only Three choices of pub locally

The Birkbeck Tavern: Birbeck Road, Leytonstone E11,
behind Leyton Tube by cemetary, turn left out tube, stairway at side of station, pub at top of this road.

My choice of local boozer, HOLSTEN on tap, good beer garden, only 10 mins walk to turnstiles, similar stoop to twickenham station etc

King Harold: High Road, Leyton, E10,
Left out of Leyton Tube and 500 metres on Left

This is going slightly away from ground etc, but still on high road, OK boozer, 2nd choice etc, will most probably go here after Birbeck

Coach and Horses: High Road, Leyton E10,
Right next to ground on High Road

This boozer stinks of urine and is generally for away footie fans, only venture if you have been innoculated or you cannot smell anything through your nose. place is awful, i even managed to get my self barred out this place about three weeks ago, used to drink in this place, when i was 14 years old, done me a favour, if you really must visit, would say, bypass and go to supporters club before game. Though the supporters club, will be better after game etc.

Any Bulls will be welcome at these places, these will be the pubs thsat Broncos fans are heading for before game anyway, so you are welcome.

The Supporters club at Orient is SUPERB, all welcome, serves good selection or real ales, many awards won for this place, has a great reputation indeed.

Good man, although I think Holsten on tap ceases to be an attraction north of Watford.

Travel 200 miles to drink in the same pub. Have a Big Mac while you're down there.

It may be a chain, but you can always get a decent pint of proper beer in Wetherspoons, and as the OP only mentions one beer, and that's a lager, asking about Wetherspoons is a fair (and necessary) question imo.

It's a fair question & a fair answer IMO. And a fair point by you.

Plus they're usually cheaper than most London pubs, which is always a help
for us poor pensioners.

6 of us going down on the Saturday and staying in Borough Market area (back of London Bridge station). Prematch drinks not far from Tower Bridge at Wapping in various pubs such as Prospect of Whitby and Town of Ramsgate. Taxi to match.

Whats the parking like? Thinking of staying in outer London on Saturday then driving in on the Sunday.

Parking is a bitch around the ground, as all residents parking zones etc, would suggest Orient Retail Park near Ground (Asda etc-sign posted etc) large retail park, plenty of parking and 5 min walk to ground etc, you get free parking for a small spend in shops etc, There is a Weatherspoons in Leytonstone, one stop on tube away, 3 mins etc, its called the Walnut Tree and right next to the Mcdonalds on high street, next to Sheepwalk pub as well, and a British legion, etc If its real ale, you are after, go directly to the Orient supporters club before the game, it opens at 11am, there have around 12 different on tap everytime, infact they only have two lagers on tap, Kronenbourg and Fosters, mad stuff, Also, get your tickets now before 29th April, as they are only £10 per adult and £1 for under18 etc, max 2 etc, as after this and on day they are £15/5 etc 0871 310 1883 (9.30-4.30pm) or www.lofcshop.com, tickets can be ordered and picked up on day

Supporters Club at Orient is normally in the Good Beer guide and should have plenty of cask ale on.
