But why would they announce it at half time if they hadn't raised the money?

| I would hope that there is a level of humility rather than a grand fan fare of "aren't we great" if they do announce we have met our initial target.

If they're close they'll probably extend the deadline by 24/48 hours.

| I thought the deadline was the 7th so they could count the proceeds from the leeds game and add up the monies from the fundraising only recently have they said it is 5pm on the 6th

If they're on £475k after doing that they'll be sorely tempted to keep it open a bit longer. There will be more than a few people at the game who will change their minds about pleging tonight. I certainly felt guilty about not having pledged at the Hull game last week. It would be a missed opportunity if people cannot pledge tonight or tomorrow. And nothing much will happen in terms of fans actually paying the money over the Easter weekend.

| The way I have read things the deadline is 5pm tonight, a bit strange where cash is concerned as its a bank holiday although some banks will open Saturday, the game kicks off after the deadline so what is the score on deadlines etc. it looks very touch and go at the moment as an outsider looking in, the raffle raised 25K but the link on another thread showed lots amounting to tens of thousands sadly the cash aint there at those levels from fans. Good look been there got the tee shirt.

But what if we have only got 400k (Hopefully not) and then they announce it at half time? I think that its stupid to have an announcement if they haven't raised the money or if there not even close to getting it.

I agree. Announcing "We've failed" at half time makes no sense at all. But equally I can't see the Bulls being so confident of reaching the target that they are already commiting themselves to a half time announcement. Hence the most logical explanation would be that they are going to make a last minute emotional plea. And that would only make sense if they are going to keep the pledge open after the game.

| It can't be "we failed - we close down next week" so best guess is extension of time - unless they"ve found a route to the £500k from £375k this morning which doesn't"t seem credible. But who knows as pr is clearly not a strength of the BOD

| One of the (many) things that has confused me about this saga is the 5pm Good Friday deadline to raise a suspiciously round number.
Given that all courts and the serious departments of any banks are shut there can be no difference between a 5pm Friday deadline and a 9am Tuesday deadline. It just adds to the impression that the board were winging it from the announcement of the pledge and pulling numbers out of thin air.

| Also, there are fundraising events happening today, the various walks, the bucket collection at the ground before and after the game, and not least the "extra" income from the gate receipts. So I guess they'll either have to be very quick at counting or take an estimiate of the Friday income into account for the half time total.
I suspect in reality given that 500k was only the half way point to the £1m, and even that figure itself is not exact (much snappier to ask for £1m than say £912,655 and 78p) So I guess the club do have some PR margin of error in the numbers anyway, it would be unfair to suggest otherwise given the timings involved.
I'm confident for tonight (off the field at least) for the first time this week.

| Don'tbget too hung up on the precise number people. Bills fall due on different days and efforts to plug the gap won't be stopping tonight!
First priority is paying the salaries on 14 April. Ample already raised for that once pledges are paid.
What the BOD will have to decide is whether, after today, they are satisfied that they WILL hit the required numbers. And they never said £1m has to come from fans alone! They said they need £0.5m NOW to meet the urgent bills and buy a bit more time to sort the rest. From outside investors, for example?
If my pledge helps mean the players get paid next week then I am happy.
I am sure the very last thing the BOD needed yesterday was Caisley's I'll-timed intervention. That could easily have waited till tomorrow morning. I can only conclude it was a deliberate attempt to derail the pledge and rescue campaign - maybe because he was running scared that it will succeed and he won't have the opportunity to buy the assets cheap off an administrator?
Do people really want a man who would do that back in charge?
