Walking back after the game on Saturday and mulling things over in my mind started to think about the Stobart Superleague. What strikes me is that it is the most anonymous sponsorship we've ever had with absolutely nothing visual in the ground; no signage, no post protectors - just nothing, apart from the announcer saying "welcome to the Stobart Superleague match".

I know there are supposed to be some wagons with SL signs on them, but driving around, whilst I've seen a few 'Stobby' vehicles I've yet to spot one with SL markings. The whole thing seems a lost opportunity to me - from both parties.

If memory serves then there are only 84 ( 6 x 14 ) Super league branded Lorries, out of a vast fleet. so you might not get to see them ( wonder if they've been asked to spread them wide to get the message out?? ) Did hear that the bigger clubs were very unhappy* with this deal and that Red Hall had "lent" on the smaller teams to make sure it was voted for. *info from some one connected with one of the bigger teams , i make no claims for its accuracy

I've seen two out in the wild now, both in the centre of Bradford turning onto Thornton Road.

I've seen a Widnes one and a Bradford one both on the M62 between Gildersome and Tingley.

On my way home from work last Friday, I saw the Wiggin one going up Manchester Rd towards the M606

I have seen hundreds of Stobart lorries in the last few weeks and am yet to see one that has any kind of SL barnding on it.

I was driving back home to Donny on the M62 after the Warrington game, when to my alarm i heard a persistant whining noise. At first i thought a wheel bearing was on its way out on the old Honda, but i was relieved to see on the opposite carriageway the Rhinos truck with a big picture of Sinfield on the side.

I saw a Leeds branded truck on my way in to Ellesmere Port to work last week.

Targeted advertising, innit.

I did hear that it got pulled up for speeding until thirteen blokes jumped out of the back and started harrassing the man with the notebook in the dark uniform.

Ill-conceived idea putting big splashes on the side of trucks and localising them too. They'd have been better spending the money on having more trucks with generic ads on the rear doors - after all, that's the bit that most people see.

The trucks looked impressive at the sponsorship launch but their effectiveness out and about on the road is minimal.

Sttobart truck with an impressive picture of Danny Tickle on side spotted driving in in the City of London (Cannon Street) on Weds. Definitely attention grabbing.

I've seen the (or is it a?) Sam Tomkins truck on the A34 several times (it could be a regular run for all I know). They are quite striking!

It is different in that I never saw the 'Engage Superleague' logo except when at grounds (or on Sky).

Where's that?
