| Must say I had a s at one of the comments posted under the article. The one about lady's top drawers and what is kept in them.
But still, St Hilaire is in an enviable position as head coach. There's virtually no pressure on him as he only has 6 games in charge, the main brunt of the seasons problems are firmly at McNamara's door, and it's not expected that we will make the play-offs. So if we do, it's a bonus for both the club AND St Hilaire in terms of future employment and showing his worth to the incoming new coach

| Well of the 6 remaining games this is the one we should and must win. The result on Sunday will give us a clue what to expect for the reamining 5 games. Team selection should be interesting. I don't suppose he will have much choice in most areas due to injuries but the fringe areas and underperformers will be the ones to look at. Best of luck for Sunday and lets hope the players turn up...

No. He took care of training, but McNamara was back for the match due to it being moved to the Sunday.

20201.jpg "I'm 49, I've had a brain haemorrhage and a triple bypass and I could still go out and play a reasonable game of rugby union. But I wouldn't last 30 seconds in rugby league." - Graham Lowe (1995):20201.jpg |

| St Hilaire on the players' reaction to Macca leaving: “Some aren’t bothered - they just get on with what they’ve got to do - and some are just looking forward to a new coach. It’s wrong for me to say that but that’s the reality.”
Hardly a ringing endorsement of Steve Mac is it? It'll be interesting to see if this is reflected in the way they play.

Reading that article, yes so do I. Very impressed with his candid and genuine-sounding comments. Quite a refreshing change of tone, I thought?
Whether he has been a little too candid, or maybe naîve, is maybe open to debate. But, as Anarkik indicates, he's not been afraid to make it clear that there may have been issues between some players and the head coach.

Probably the likes of Olbison questioning how the hell he doesn't get a chance when Worrincy gets picked every week.

Certainley, thats how I prefer it.
I never believed for one moment that all of the players were happy with Macca and what he was doing. They cant all of respected him as much as people would have you belive.
After two disastrous seasons players must have seriously been questioning his abilty.

| It would go some way to clear up that bizarre "we didn't play how we were coached" excuse if there's some descent between how McNamara tried to do things and how perhaps senior players felt things should go

To be honest, when listening to what he said, I didn't get the idea that players were being 'bolshie', more that they were professionals and taking things in their stride. Rather like any workplace when the manager changes; you wonder what might change etc etc, but basically you just get on with what you're paid to do: your job.
