Well one consolation league position can't get any worse than tonight this season.

I don't think this needs to be a long post, we were a complete and utter mess for most parts of the game.

I really didn't believe we would have performance in us that clueless in attack this year with the players on board. As for our defence...
To say this was our opening home game I hoped we would show a bit of passion and really try and take the game to Saints. I thought Scruton and Halley on occasions showed some of the passion I was looking for but it didn't happen often enough.

Not even close to being good enough Bradford or McNamara and any 'pre season buzz' has probably fizzled into thin air now. I was embarrassed watching that lot today, however I think I will reflect now and let the anger subside but I doubt anyone can defend or find much positive out of that performance.

I really can't be bothered going into detail, especially since a few of the players looked like they couldn't be bothered earlier.

To summarise, we were god awful. That's about all that I feel like saying.

St.Helens weren't all that good we just made it easy for them.

Where are the play makers? Orford tried a bit, Kearney isn't s stand off and L'estrange offered nothing at hooker. I think only Scruton and Whitehead made half breaks. We seemed to take the ball in with one man drives or drop the ball if it went through a few hands. So depressing.

Our backs just have no strike at all, but a lot of us knew that. Sykes was just god awful. Defence was soft as i've seen.

Saints did well but i'd hardly say they needed to play well to win today.

Just the same problems as last year. Any confidence i had of this team being top 4 or 5 has just gone.

Get Kearney to fullback, he's not a stand off plus Halley just doesn't have the class despite his effort.

How did Orford get on? He had a big habit of going missing for the Sea Eagles in this sort of game last year rather than stepping up. And you're damn right Kearney is never a stand off in the memory of man, baffled why you're playing him there.

Hope it gets better soon for you guys, you deserve a lot better.

I have tried to keep faith with McNamara given we have no money as a club and a (albeit small) genuine belief that he can turn things around.

However a total and utter lack of passion, pride and commitment is not acceptable (whatever the skill levels of players are).

The players need to shoulder their fairshare of the blame for todays performance but it is ultimately the head coach and his coaching team that need to be responsible and accountable for the performances on the pitch ... so with a heavy heart and recognition that we need change things I have to finally admit it is time to for McNamara to leave the club.

Whilst we are in relatively dire financial straits we need to recognise that fans (our income stream & lifeblood) will not return to watch these sort of performances ... any optimism created from pre-season has, in one match, been swept away. If we persevere we are likely to slowly drift and die as a club back to the core 4000 fans or so. Sometimes tough decisions for the long term good need to be made.

Totally disgusting play by all the team.

We were awfull, the most worrying thing today is that saints are not a patch of the team they once were, but when you invite the opposition to score points that makes it easy for them. It's obvious some of our players are not good enough at this level, and if they are then they are simply not trying which is more worrying. DIRE!

Like nearly all the team today, he had a shocker. Probably guilty of trying too hard to make something happen. Took his try well but it offered no consolation.
