| I have read on another thread we have been linked with luke Burgess as he is out of contract at leeds and so far not signed a new one as anyone got any information on this would be good to have the Burgess 4 all playing in one team and also any other information on players coming in for 2009.

| this rumour has been about for a while, think with only a few weeks to go before the transfer window opens , id expect a majority of players that are going to sign new contracts have. and ones that havent will move on.
It wouldnt surprise me if luke came to be a Bull. be interteing to see if anymore of our out of contract players stay on

As far as I am aware he has resigned for Leeds.
TBH, I a puzzled at some of the glowing praise Luke Burgess is getting on here recently. Had he not had the name "Burgess" I don't think anyone would really give a gnats' chuff about him.

Burgess and Scruton have not resigned yet at Leeds last I heard unless anyone knows better? Any of our semi resident Leeds posters know for sure?

| I belive Leeds can only afford to sign one out of Burgess and Scruton. I would sign Luke Burgess think he is a really good forward never takes a step back and he quality at offloading.
Our main priorty has got to be backs we need a good winger and a class centre or we will struggle next season.

I think either Burgess or Scruton would be decent signings, I'd go for Scruton before Burgess though if I had to choose. And I agree about a class outside back, but if Deacon starts to struggle with reoccuring injuries, and Harris does go to Celtic, we might need more cover in the halves as well.

Cripes! I hope not. We need another average performer like a hole in the head.

| I rate Luke Burgess. He may be a bit slow on his feet in defence but he's a big lad who gets over the advantage line and has good offload. He's a better option than Chris Feather and has time on his side.
Of the two good judges at Leeds currently rate Scruton more highly than Burgess. I'd take either at the Bulls

| Will be really ed off if we go and sign Rooney, he's not the type of player we need in my opinion. I'm not on the 'get Macca out' bandwagon but this off season could go a long way towards deciding how long he stays. If we have to go through another off season watch Bradford signing average players while other clubs recruit will I think his time maybe up. I can understand Rooney as a temporary signing if Deacon is out for the rest of the season and we can sign him immediately but having Rooney and Jeffries here is a silly option. We need to stop signing players from clubs like Wakefield before we end up in the bottom half with Wakefield.

If I can clarify. I think that Luke Burgess is a decent player, but I also think that because he is Sam's brother, people are putting him on a similar lofty pedestal that they are putting Sam on.
