| Scoreline doesn't reflect game. York could have gone through a couple of gears of they needed to.
We're so far behind. Usual errors. Okunbor yet again but will play next week. Lilley simply doesn't have the skill set. Constantly kicking early in the tackle count. Not once did he manage to turn York around. Sure they'll be more two week loans to put a sticking plaster over the issue, but we're simply not good enough.
I said that penalty summed us up in the big games and so it proved to be.
Bottlers.

| Same old story. Another rivalry clash, another narrow defeat. We have once again fallen short. For Bulls fans, it’s yet another big game where we simply haven’t turned up.
Despite the gap in form between the two sides, we managed to keep things close. But it’s hard to take any real positives when the same issues keep costing us. Dropped balls in our own half, poor defensive reads out wide, players being dragged into touch far too easily, and a blunt, uninspired attack near the York line. We’re not smart enough in key moments, and it shows. York didn’t have to dig deep to win it but played smarter in key positions.
The most frustrating part for me is that this was winnable. But for the umpteenth time, we’ve come up short by the slimmest of margins. Losing by two points hurts more than a hiding, and this team keeps finding ways to break our hearts. Next week’s home clash with Oldham is massive. Lose that, and we’re in serious trouble. Questions have to be asked of Noble now—he’s not getting enough out of this squad, and you start to wonder if he’s the right man to take us forward.

| Nor do we have the forwards to win a game up front against a side willing to dig in. York made more ground than us consistently.
Halfbacks cant create. We had heaps of good ball in the second half but no creativity shown at all.
Backs not ruthless enough. That time we broke through in the second half, three on one and we muck it up.
Attack is hopeless. Players look like strangers. What do they do in training?
Same old story from Noble postmatch. Hearing this too often now.

| Okunbor been poor for weeks but today was abysmal. The dropped ball, the ambling back to get McShane's kick. The inability to finish in the corner.
Hallas at dummy half is like watching us in slow motion, despite the late try. We're bad enough in attack without having the slowest service ever from dummy half.
Why was Rogers trying to step inside all the time? Run your weight! Our forwards hardly got a quick PTB all day.
Fulton running across the field too much. Just kills the attack. Rum straight!
Joe Keyes anonymous. Doesn't look fit. Both halfback chucking hospital passes.
No kick pressure and our kick chase lacked any vigour.
Doro the best player by miles and he's off back to HKR.

In a nutshell. The signings have been a massive let down and it looks very likely it will derail our chances of success this year. We literally have nobody who can grab the game by the scruff of the neck and break down a strong defensive team. Our forwards did well today and probably got the better of York for most the game, but our attacking plays are so slow and predictable. Keyes offered zero running threat and his kicking was poor. I'm afraid neither him or Meadows are going to lead us to success and im not sure how we fix that this year.

I thought the pack was good today, it was other areas that let the team down massively.

York made more and more ground with each set and that got them in position to score their tries. Second half flattered us because they kept dropping the ball.

We barely had the ball for parts of the 1st half. It wasn't the forwards throwing offloads in our own half to nobody or putting in nothing kicks. We've been outmuscled by York in previous games but today I didnt see that. I did see some clueless attacking shape though and nobody at halfback taking control.

| I'm with Bullseye. When the two sides went set for set, York were consistently kicking on the last in our half. Whereas we were consistently kicking from our own half. York giving away soft penalties was what allowed us up field. Only for Lilley to miss a simple penalty and level the game up.
I feel for Keyes. He produced our one bit of quality. So there's not a chance I'd drop him. But he's had multiple half back partners who all have their own issues and who have also played different positions. No wonder pit attack looks off. Lilley needs to move on for me. He's simply not good enough to play 7 anymore but gets a free ride from the fans as he tries his nuts off. But we simply have to look at quality over effort now.
