Agree about Stack, wasn't just moaning about every decision. It was way OTT and far too aggressive towards the officials. Arms outstretched and screaming at the ref and touch judge. It was quite visible on the highlights this worked with Griffiths owing up after a rant from Stack.

Disappointing thing is Griffiths is one of the full-time refs and an experienced one and spent far too much time having pally conversations with the Barrow players while being told by them when to blow for a penalty.

Can't imagine the likes of Robin Whitfield would've put up with all that arm waving and appealing. I remember him sending Ellery Hanley off for far less.

Can't be long before a player thinks 'He's at it again, I'm gonna get set off and banned so may as well level the properly'. Can't come too soon

Unfortunately the modern game is such that natural justice isn't meted out in this way. Instead it's down to the ref to be more forceful and make sure that players know they're in charge and that all the waving arms around and appealing for a decision won't make any difference. The ref last Sunday was very weak in this department. Barrow have a clear gameplan to put pressure on the ref and to an extent it worked.

Lamping someone only plays into their hands. Doro fell for the old pea and thimble trick which is a pretty old tactic albeit one that can be tried without fear of being smacked as often nowadays.

And awarded a Neil summers try 2 metres short of the line at wakey for which I'll always fondly remember Robin.

Maybe he was making up for the Hull KR walk off debacle at that match?
