I've noticed that these sort of numpties are ever more noticeable when the the crowds are smaller. Also for a large section of fans it seems to be the norm to hurl abuse at the officials regardless of their performance I just don't get it.

The problem with the RFL aligning itself with the (w)Joke brigade is that rarely has a Club or Fans got warned for fined or questioning an Officials parentage which has been going on probably since sport became a regular spectator one.

I think he means crowd references to referees doing bar work, has never been pursued by the RFL. It is indeed true that, even at Odsal, some have mentioned referees bar-stewarding with out any official opprobrium. Well, not beyond the usual PA announcement.

If you compare the club’s reaction to this and the outcomes from that to Yorkshire’s handling of the racism investigation you can see the benefits of swift and positive action against discrimination.

The club have shown leadership on what is still an embarrassing episode and the perpetrator(s) are helmets.
