Been poor. Not wrapping the ball up in tackles, some lazy chasing. Fev players look fitter and playing on the front foot.
Not that it will make a difference to the result but they are getting the 50/50s from the ref too, forward pass calls for one

Just unlucky that we get key injuries and covid strikes causing us to lose our loan players both at the same time.

I don't like relying on loan players either but that's where the club is at the moment. All the more reason to bring on our own.

Disappointing performance without a doubt but I don’t think anyone realistically thought we would beat Fev. So overall if it had to happen against anyone, it might as well happen against one of the best teams in the league rather than a play off rival.

Keep concentrating on beating those around us and we will make the playoffs which most would have been happy with at the start of the season.

Desperately need some players back though

The talk in the main stand yesterday was that Joe Keyes is on his way.

Against York, we looked good, in control. But we had 4 players with current/recent SL experience- Brough, Murphy, Golding, Wilson who were all then lost for Fev.

That forced us to use fringe players that JK doesn’t seem to trust. But the positions don’t work. We used our best FB as an average half. We then used our best winger as an average FB. We put our shortest winger up against one of the tallest & most experienced wingers in the comp. Add in the heat, couple of unlucky injuries again , no wonder we couldn’t do ourselves justice.

Ultimately though, these Fev games don’t matter. The one in the playoffs does. This group have shown enough to get to the playoffs I think.

I'd thought the same tbh, get to a final and anything can happen.

If only we had a coach who was a one-off game master....
