Happy with this signing. Only downside is how he copes with injuries at 37. But in our position its a good signing and a risk worth taking imho to go along with the kear extension.
As has been said, at least it shows planing and realistic amibition from the club, which is all i can hope for really at the moment.

He apparently has taken a big cut and comes within budget. I don't think Sawyer is a man to throw silly money about. It is probably a good move for both sides as someone else said it may lead to an assistants job for him to be with Kear. The young halves can learn a lot from him and they will still get games when he is rested or injured.
He is getting on but all of our other halves are young so we can carry him. Foxy would had said he is just coming into his prime.

Every time I saw Murrell I said we could do with someone like him. Let the young lads do all the running.

keyword there is hinted. not announced. I think a deal will have been agreed or T&A wouldn't have gone with such a big article on it. But could be case that it isn't actually signed yet giving club a get out if financial situation gets worse. My guess is they would announce it at the public meeting their talking about holding as something positive to announce.
