| Quote nestegg="nestegg"Again well said Jay.
We have some of the 'answers' Jay, but need for the time being to keep some of our cards close to our chest.
And before some cynics bleat out .. " [iyour cards (or your only 'card') is the 'joker'[/i " ... then if that's to be your view, then so be it
'"
Ah, the fact that you're keeping some close to your chest explains a lot.
Like why you're not playing with a full deck.

Whats the latest on the players that invoked termination of thier contracts? I believe Bradford's 7 days for appeal for a few of them was up on Friday.

| Quote nestegg="nestegg"A quote by a well renowned jewish author and journo.
As for delusion Dilligaf then pl consider the following, and your views and those of other members would of course be welcome.
Were you and the many loyal and long suffering Bulls ever deluded by any of the following owners/persons, or were any (or all) all of these persons at some stage deluded themselves?:
1) Peter Hood
2) Omar Khan
3) Marc Green
4) Andrew Chalmers
5) Chris Brereton, and
6) Nigel Wood
Be interest to hear your learned opinion(s).
We'll work on your understandable cynicism re our motives as time progresses.
Time to watch the Grand Final - it's 14 years since we last featured.
'"
Leaving aside no's 5 and 6, the common factor with them all is that they were left a pile of doo doo by the name above, along with the RFL - I guess you should add Chris Caisley to the top of the list as he was the one who spent the Odsal Settlement money on contracting players which history shows we couldn't afford.
All of those started with a 'queered pitch'. CC was scuppered with the 'Superdome' fiasco and the rest either by debts and or points deductions kindly left in their in-trays, and most of them started with no team either. I honestly believe each and every one (including my addition at the top) did their honest best and thought they were doing right by the club though clearly, self preservation did take over at the end for a few.
As for me, if the sale doesn't go ahead, and we're back to square 1 yet again, then that's it. No more re-boots, new seasons with no team, no money and no chance. They can re-start where they want, under what name they want and with whoever they want in control. Unless it's some really 'minted' guy it'll be re-starting without me.

Yes CC & Hood - the Tesco/Morrison’s fiasco did for them. Compounded by the fragmented shareholdings.
Hoods last throw of the dice was gambling all on Orford & cheap tickets and iirc we were 4th and in the QF when he got injured. A promising season fell apart and the end began.
Omar - I always thought the £1.8m fine he received was imposed by the SL clubs, but I’ve heard recently he offered it. Which would be madness. As soon as central funding was cut, his fate was sealed.
My only quibble with your summary above - Mr Green was a chancer. Lots of stories about his businesses in Leeds were kicking around. Could play a crowd though - charismatic.
Still info to come out re AC, so the jury still out on him for me

| Every time this type of debacle happens with the owners / RFL all we seem to get from people is: you the fans need to realise this/that, you are a lost cause, your are in cuckoo land, you have no chance of surviving.
Why don't you lot just direct your comments to the people who cause this mess and not the loyal fans who have to put up with all this crap year after year.
Just stand back and be thankful your team has not been in this kind of S%^T like we have for years which is not the fans fault.

We have some snide visitors who are unable or unwilling to differentiate between the club and its fans. If we back the new owners we get called "Happy clappers", and if we are cynical and sceptical we are berated for not giving them a chance. If you look at the debacle of this club and conclude that the fans are fair game then you're an absolute dick.

Ha
He text me yesterday to ask if I’ve heard anything. How wrong is that, the players haven’t got a clue

| Hi Roger it's wrong on so many levels especially for the players like Elliott who absolutely love the club. I feel for them as they have been promised the earth by another chancer who has done a running. If he hasn't then why is Ac not saying anything as he usually has plenty to say. The Rfl should hang their hein shame how can they put people in charge of this once great club who have no idea

Yes mate it really is a disgrace. I guess once again the full facts will never come out, I think we’ve all read this book before.
It is strange Chalmers silence is deafening isn’t it, with him normally having so much to say about other people.

A source has informed us that an appeal was lodged; but we did not witness said act personally, so we (as is often the case) are reliant on the words of another.
From an objective legal viewpoint it would appear that the players contracts were irrevocably breached, but the RFL live in a somewhat of a subjective La La Land, and do of course have the power to hold a gun to the head of any player. We understand, but are not certain, that if a club's appeal is upheld then a player would likely at first sight have to abide by his contract and presumably his (or in this case their) only recourse would likely be to go to a court/tribunal, or a UK based independent arbitration service and/or the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). Sadly either option would be costly and possibly not realistic. Even vulture type sports lawyers will not act for free; even those who we are are told sadly let down certain RL players a few years ago.
