| Whether we like it or not Odsal is a dump, RFL and BMC have not put a penny into the the Ground for years, we have been paying maybe 75K for a patch of grass to play on with little of no improvements.
Some fans seem to want to keep playing at a money sponge ground rather than move to maybe a better playing ground and maybe see a bit more money go into the team.
This is a catch 22 situation with no right or wrong course of action

| Well the clock is certainly ticking in regards to consultation with the fans if the deadline is Aug 15th. Are we going to be given some information regarding the different options so an informed decision can be made? I noticed Chalmers mentioned Bradford City rather than BPA in his latest column.. is our close partnership now finished? In short, the fans need to know where we are if they are to be able to help make a decision of such importance.
In reality I expect the club and Chalmers will do what they want regardless of the fan consultation because I expect the fan base will be very split on say a move to VP. You could probably run a poll on here and I doubt there would be an overwhelming majority on any option except keeping the club in Bradford. Not being from Bradford or living in Bradford it is less of a concern for me but I can see why it might be for proud Bradfordians.

| The fact is Odsal is too expensive to redevelop as just a stadium that gets used less than 20 times a year.
The sensible idea would be to build a new stadium over the road on the Richard Dunn site. There's no need for additional landfill to give the base for it, and the land the current stadium stands on can be sold for development to at least part fund the new stadium.

I'm sorry but I have to smile at the question; "Are we going to be given some information regarding the different options so an informed decision can be made?". The idea that WE (fans, well-wishers and other assorted rabble..)will have any input into this decision in this, other than some kind of sop 'marketing exercise' is barmy, imo. The decision will undoubtedly be taken at board level, whatever our views. A big uprising by us would probably cause the chairman to cash in his chips.

^ this, 100%
It's window dressing, no more than that, to say that the fans will be consulted.
And besides what would be the point? You only have to look at this and other forums, and other social media, to see how hopelessly divided the fanbase is. You'd have the rabid people on Bulls Banter screaming about how they'll never watch another game if we move from Odsal, and people totally divided about any of the available options. It would shed a lot more heat than light, that's for sure.

Well if you'd read the rest of my post you would see I also see i think Chalmers is probably paying lip service to the fans. It's pretty pointless to even ask the fans without some basic information on the options.

| I remember Caisley telling a few of us that the Bulls Name was a franchise one and not tied to Odsal and they could move elsewhere if needed and now it looks like Chalmers is about to exercise that option, but leaving Odsal without a local solution will condemn the Club to oblivion while staying at the ground will have the same effect unless there is some heavy external investment waiting on the side to accomodate either a redevelopment of the stadium for the Club or redevelop the site and put the Club in a new stadium elsewhere!
The light at the end of the tunnel looks to be the train of misfortune coming towards us. I just hope it's on the other track!!

| Just watching the Salford vs Stevenage football game this afternoon. Salford don't have a massive stadium, but it's fine for where they are and something that size would be more than adequate for what the Bulls need and only cost £4 million to build.
We don't need a "Superdome" or some massive 70k all seater stadium. We only need something that's 5/6k capacity but with the option to increase if needed.

Agreed. But does Horsfall have the scope for temporary stands to get us that capacity? If so then we could be in business.

| DISCLAIMER this post contains no facts just the musings of a cynic
The CCJ’s first and now Chalmers saying that Odsal is too expensive to run has got me thinking that history is about to repeat itself only this time Bradford may end up no longer having a professional rugby league club

May i suggest IF we want to get back into SL then a 5/6K stadium won't be big enough at some game this year we have had 4K ok for the moment not in the future!!
