| Quote JohnQ="JohnQ"Odsal rent, maintenance costs, rates etc i'm told is around 400k per year.9k a month rent gives the RL around a nice 10% per annum on their investment without any of the usual maintenance costs incurred by landlords.would imagine Mr Chalmers is in currently in rather delicate discussions with RL and the council hence the lack of public statements.Move and survive.'"
If what ya saying is true pal, bloody hell what a joke. 400k a year. That's madness, we need to get out of there but where to???

On the CCJs:
Quote It's not an issue from the club's perspective,Meanwhile, Mr Chalmers has confirmed the club is not in financial trouble after two County Court Judgements against the club - totalling £2,100 - appeared on the public record.
He said he was not worried about the finances and admitted the CCJs were a mistake the club would learn from.
"It's not an issue from the club's perspective," said Mr Chalmers.
"All the CCJs will be settled.
"We didn't mean to do it deliberately.
"It was a mistake and we have to roll with the ups and downs."'"
On Odsal:
Quote It's not an issue from the club's perspective,Mr Chalmers told the Telegraph & Argus: "We will stay at Odsal only if we are able to do it on terms that are economically sound.
"Our wish is to stay at the spiritual home of the Bulls, but we need it to be financially viable."
Mr Chalmers described the stadium as a "legacy asset", meaning it has stopped being profitable.'"

Well that seems to clear that up and the questions around Odsal. Perhaps everyone can stop the panic for a moment.

| Interesting article which throws up all sorts of different scenarios. I think the positive is that the silence has been broken and theres seem to be some degree of transparency coming from the club.

| Season ticket sales are delayed due to the planned move as they were due to go on sale last week. From what I understand option 1 would be Park Avenue

| Dewsbury or an adapted Horsfall would be my votes for a ground share. Be interesting to know whether the sudden departure of Irvine has damaged our links with BPA or not? Decisions will need to be made quickly though if they plan to start launching season tickets in the coming weeks.

| Tbh a move to be dewsbury would be a bridge too far for me and I wouldn’t be attending games anymore. Probably same for park avenue. Both say we’re settling for being a championship club long term. Much as I hate vp at least it’s SL capable. Think charmers is doing city trick of threatening to leave get a rent reduction but not sure it will work as land value is worth far more than our rent and think both council and reflect would both be quite happy if we vacated.
Notice he doesn’t mention the missed cup gate payments to other clubs.

| Reading between the lines, thenRFL recently announced losses for the previous year and are looking to offload some assists to counter that. I feel that off the back of that Chalmers is trying to get the lease back from the RFL at a knockdown price.

| I don't think a move to anywhere other than VP suggests SL isn't a target. And to be honest, I think that target is still some way off and probably unhelpful to keep harping on about. I don't know for sure but my guess would be that VP would be the most expensive option. Clearly a lot going on behind the scenes and plenty of hands to be revealed. Odsal is coming to the end of it's life in it's current form and I think most people accept that now.

| Well it looks to me like Chalmers is doing what Chalmers does. Ever since he came in his modus operandi has been to not over promise and to cut cloth accordingly. He's continuing that task with the serious consideration of a move away from Odsal. It's interesting how he's said that many have tried and failed to make Odsal viable (or words to that effect). It must be a very difficult place to financially manage effectively.

| Even if it's only brinkmanship, at least he's finally saying what many of us have known for a long time - that Odsal is killing this club and we need something to change if we want the club to survive. I might be wrong but I can't recall any of our previous owners being so clear cut about the subject - Marc Green in particular was adamant that the club would never leave Odsal and stubbornness like that never works in business.
