| Quote paulwalker71="paulwalker71"One point to throw into the mix is that we basically went into the game with two props - if we don't count Wood as a prop, which it seems Kear doesn't.
Presumably Kirk and Magrin injured? Obviously Green is - but, come on, Sam Hallas? He can't be more than 12 stone wringing wet. It's like going back to the day of Chev Walker at prop.
I assume Bustin has offended Kear in some way, or is just plain out of shape - either way he is surely on his way out at the end of the season.'"
In my opinion Hallas should be starting as hooker - he has done a good job for us there this season as has got better and better. Now he’s a prop!!! That’s a joke and it is clearly to accommodate Flanagan. It seems that JK has his favourites and that he moves people around, out of position, to accommodate them! I know people love Flanagan but his passes are wild and he makes the wrong options in good ball. Wood has been playing prop since JK moved Mincella to loose. Crossley is full of heart but has t been anyway near good enough this season. His Play the ball is slow and he gets targeted in defence. But again another favourite. It’s difficult with such a big team but JK should really think about his team options and play those who deserve to be played! Shouldn’t have changed the team from Widness and Toulouse!

| Quote Hightown Tiger="Hightown Tiger"Re: timekeeping. This is how it works - a representative from York and a rep from Bradford sit together at the back of the stand, each has a stop clock, each of them have to agree when to blow the hooter. It’s not a case of York being in control of when to blow the hooter.
Not trolling btw. Thank you to your fans for travelling over and adding to the ocassion, been another great battle, I think a draw would’ve been a fair result but this is rugby league.'"
Wrong. In the championship the timekeeper is appointed by the rfl.
What about knocking opposition players out with a swinging arm? Is that a new rule where the victim gets pinged for a knock on?

| Well it was a funny old game! I left the ground satisfied that I’d had a good afternoons entertainment, probably the best I’ve seen this year. But at the same time, disappointed that we came away with nothing from a game that we shaded in performance. York once again managed to see out a close game and take the points, something they seem to have done regularly this year and last. We could definitely learn some lessons from them in that respect.
The Evans incident was a long way from me, but baffling how a player can be knocked out from a seemingly ordinary collision without a penalty for a high tackle awarded. Unfortunately York scored from that bit of ‘good fortune’ but these decisions happen and especially in our division. Keyes will probably be disappointed with a couple of his 1st half conversion attempts that you would have to say were very kickable by his standards. Ryan trying too hard to get out his own goal and gifting York a try was also disappointing.
Cannot disagree with Kear in his assessment that the better team on the day lost, but that’s sport unfortunately. Play offs look a very tall order but I hope the players continue with that effort level for the final 5 matches so at the very least we finish the season positively.

The York player who ‘abused’ the system was in A+E last night with a suspected broken jaw and/or a broken nose.
Still waiting for clarification on timekeeping - it’s either done by an RFL official or a rep from BOTH clubs, so blowing the hooter early as alleged by some will have been a joint decision or an RFL decision.

| Wasn’t at the game (wife’s birthday) but managed to catch bits of the commentary on the radio. It sounded like to very evenly matched teams. In the end it came down to our inability to kick enough goals. York closed the game out and we didn’t, even if we were only the width of a post away from it.
There now seems to be a bit of a gap opening up between ourselves and the top 5. We should aim to win all our remaining games and just see where that leaves us. The dropped point last week was a blow but really it was the games against York and Sheffield that have cost us. I just hope Chalmers wasn’t gambling the club on a top 5 finish like Green did.
6th would be a very decent showing given we were the 2nd best team in L1 last year. However when you look at how York have gone and how consistent they have been you wonder if we could’ve done better.

| I think people just love looking for conspiracies and controversy even when there isn't any. It's also very poor form of John Kear to be making those sort of comments to the press when he can't prove his allegations. He just looks like a sore loser.
We outscored York 5 tries to 4 and still lost, something that should never happen in a game of RL. Couple that with the knock on in the last minute, the foot in touch when grounding the ball, and the intercept passes and the only people JK and the players should be disappointed with are themselves.
I still think it will come down to the wire between ourselves and York for fifth spot, but I can see us just missing out and finishing sixth. I'm fine with this as long as Chalmers didn't foolishly budget for us finishing in the top 5. That's my only anxiety and it will continue to be so until the funding distribution is evenly spread irrespective of the final league standings.

Irrelevant. For a Head Injury/concussion assessment, it all comes down to whether the player had symptoms which made the Dr/physio suspect concussion. Plenty of players have nose bleeds without needing a concussion assessment. Equally players need concussion assessment without any obvious head injury. One doesn't necessarily mean the other.
