I know Keyes was class today but I have to say big wraps to Magrin. Plenty have slated him this season (myself included, and rightly so) but he was class today. Led from the front from minute one and tackled his backside off. Huge difference from the Magrin we saw early season.
Pickersgill was outstanding today! Just gutted he didn’t quite have the pace to get on Hitchcox’s inside but certainly backed up superbly for the tries he created and the one he scored!
Minchella was back to his best too! Awesome to see!
Kirk provided a solid platform too today!
Only one question, was Storton injured or just simply not selected?
WOW what a great performance, if we keep that up for the run in we will rattle a few cages, Widnes did not was to be on the turf after the first 20mins and it showed
Well done Team
Completely agree with all posts above but amazed no one had mentioned how well Bustin went yesterday. Long spell, made metres after contact every time and his defence was brutal.
Looks to me like Kear knew they'd be fragile after three games and the PT announcement this week. Sent the lads out with hit first and hit bloody hard game plan knowing full well if there was daylight after 20 mins they'd probably start to crumble.
The pleasing things from the game were we did just that to perfection: pulled them from side to side, blitzed them to the point they looked dazed but when the daylight was there they did not relent, not one bit.
Even when, lets be fair, some of us wouldn't have begrudged Widnes a consolation try, they were having none of it...and since Keyes has come back Lilley's found his kicking game again. Yes Keyes ran the show but some of those steps from Lilley yesterday, as he was about to get flattened, to still get a decent kick away were fantastic.
