Chisholm's 'off the cuff' play is brilliant when it comes off but dire when it doesn't. It can go either way. We can assume he's still in a 'trying to impress mode' but even that can go awry when you maybe try too hard, as you might when playing against your old mates.

What does this even mean?!?!?! What is this 'off the cuff' play everyone keeps referring to?

Do you mean taking the defensive line on from time to time? Throwing cutout passes? These are things a halfback IS SUPPOSED TO DO. It's what our current halfbacks ARE NOT DOING, which is why our attacking play is so dire.

Off the cuff doesn't mean any of those things. It means playing it as you see it regardless of what the call was or what the gameplan is. That's great when it works but if you're on a different wavelength to everyone else or do it all the time you aren't playing as a team.

So what, Dane did this constantly then did he? To such an extent that JK effectively booted him out of the club?

John Kear made a huge call and he needs to prove he made the right one in the long run. He has a long way to go before I'm convinced, and I still don't think Lilley will ever come good.

I suspect there's more to it than that but I've only heard rumours and have no proof so won't be putting anything on here.

Presumably Joe Brown will be added to that 18?

Otherwise why only name 18, when they could have simply put in Foggin-Johnson, if injured, then Josh Rickett?
