Sometimes contracts contain an 'option' which is often taken as the end date but, obviously, an option is just that, an option, and might not be taken up. Maybe that is the case here?

Quite possibly. Though our media guru is also known for the occasional error so it could also be that.

Got to admit recently I think we have seen a massive improvement on the output from the club. That said at the time of them announcements I am not sure we can totally believe anything that came out back then

Last weekend Kear was asked about the new winger from Hunslet and he said we can expect to see another new winger signing soon.
If this is the case we may have someone freed up for standing in at full back when needed.
Two weeks ago Chalmers was on RL Backchat and said Kear arrived and had the squad already signed. This year he is letting some go and signing his own players.
We can judge Kear better this time next year when he has had full control.
Some of our favourites might be let go but we have to trust Kear knows what he is doing.

Hopefully they'll all be Kear choices.
