I am now the author of six novels all inspired by the old saying about work that "They could write a book about this place. It would be a best seller" along with the game of Rugby League which I have followed since 1947. My latest novel is set between 2006 and 2008, is called "Three Good Years" and set against a background of Work, Family Life, Saving the NHS and Rugby League.
Among the chapter titles are
She's A Jehovah's Widnes
Minnie Cotton versus Dewsbury
I follow Marlborough League
Telling Stevo about Uno's Dabs
Your mother grew up in Tiger Bay
The Church of the Everyday Saints
I hope that Guy Fawkes is standing
Them bloody stupid pliers
