| Quote Bullseye="Bullseye"Irvine has been assisting up at the club on the commercial side for some time now apparently.
Surely a club owner owning the lease of the ground of another club is a conflict of interest?'"
Has or apparently has. Which?

| Quote Tricky2309="Tricky2309"Obsessed that’s you when it comes to Wakey. I was just offering an opinion as to why MC and other SL chairmen might have expressed an interest in the lease.'"
Chill out sweet cheeks.
Without knowing what the terms of the lease are I’ve no idea what it’s worth now. The value was clearly inflated to cover the loan that Peter hood took out and couldn’t pay back.
If it’s still the case that we can walk away next year it surely reduces its value as a ground.

Its because its more than common knowledge what the value of the site as landfill is. All Carter wants to do is try get his greedy little paws on a slice. No more no less

| Quote Tricky2309="Tricky2309"Well it was a pretty terrible investment by the RFL if it’s lost over 45% of its value in 6 years and raised questions about why they paid what they did for it in the first place. MC has said he would pay more than 750k for it so that suggests it is worth more than that amount'"
Case and point. Also if he has that kind of money why is he constantly crying the poor tale of how under cap you are?

| Quote Godiswithers="Godiswithers"Have the RFL ever stated how much the loan on which the lease was secured and how much was repaid?
Just in case people have forgotten how the RFL obtained the lease in the first place.'"
No, but somewhere on the TotalRL forums someone actually posted the agreement betweent he RFL and the finance company. It does beg the question though has the loan been repaid or still secured against?
I saw on another post that YorkCourt were involved telling Carter not to buy BV. Isn't it a lot to do with them why you have been held up regards a new stadium? And I take it the chance to buy the ground has come and gone?

| One thing puzzles me slightly - what can any new owner of the head-lease do 'with the land' when we have a sub-lease which, as along as we stick to the rules of said lease, allows us to use the land for many more years (I forget how many but I think it would still be over 100)?
Without our approval I can't see any real value in the head-lease, unless they would be allowed to increase the rent. Even if the land itself were bought from the council our lease would still be intact.

Think you might be a bit confused here.
As I see it, the council own the freehold. The RFL own the leasehold. We don't own anything, we are simply tenants.

Correct and the only covenant that made out we had to play there was up to 2019 and probably doesn’t apply anyway as that company went bust.
Unless we’ve signed a lease agreement (which you can always get out of anyway) the purchaser would end up with a 90 odd year leasehold with massive up keep bills and no real income. They’d have no right to change the use of it either unless the council agreed to it which would mean paying them off.
It’s carter and the rest stirring the sh17 as usual in my opinion.

| I for one can’t wait for chalmers’ column in the t&a this week.
I’m really excited. It’s good to know we’re still a thing in the eyes of top 8 superleague clubs. Even sh17e ones.

The RFL have the Head lease, we have a sub lease - if we were simply 'tenants' we wouldn't have the responsibility of repairs to the stadium, which we do, as it part of our lease agreement.
