I just can't understand why there are some people still finding negatives about this by using the words "lies" and disappointed in Beatie being assistant. I prefer Kear + Beatie than Greenwood + anyone. Kear and Greenwood would have been good but Kear and anyone is also a pretty good outcome to me. Lets just accept that Kear has probably taken most of the coaching budget for the first team and beatie will be a good bridge between Kear and the others.
I also don't expect there to be a problem with Mr Carter. he does come over as a decent bloke and Kear has served him well. If Kear explained to him why he wanted to take the job I can see Carter wishing him the best and not standing in his way. I expect it was all done very amicably by both sides.'"
Quote woolly07="roger daly"On Leigh Beattie been assistant, can I say I know of one player who is very happy with that. Got nothing but good things to say about him
Which I guess is worth more than any negative fans opinion
I think it's been a decent day to be a Bulls fan for once'"
To clarify, I'm not disappointed that Beattie is an assistant. I happen to think he did a belting job under the circumstances last year.
What I'm disappointed in is that Chalmers quite clearly said at the forum a few months ago that we would be getting an additional assistant coach. That's additional to Leigh Beattie who was already in place and additional to the head coach (which was still technically Toovey). That just hasn't happened, so it turns out it was another empty promise. That's what's disappointing, especially considering the way they worded it yesterday was that we were getting a new head coach and new assistant. And nobody on here can say they didn't word it like that as every single one of the posts on here were discussing who the two new guys were.
If they'd announced Kear + A.N. Other today, while mentioning Beattie was still an assistant and in charge of the 19s, with Dunning assistant to 19s and in charge of 16s, I think that would have been excellent. But I'm pointing out that the promise of an extra coach has been broken but forgotten under the undoubted good news of the head coach.
No criticism of Beattie himself. At least none intended.
Also not intended to take away from the excellent head coach appointment. But if people want to ignore any negatives so we can all be positive and happy and look at rainbows, then each to their own. Personally I thought it was a forum where all things were discussed, not just the glittery joyful amazing things.
