yep, that's my point, its only the re-reporting on sites like that and the T&A which then get quoted on twitter, which then gets re-reported again. But the original source is nowhere, and the RFL website reported it, posted it and then took it down.

Notice the headline states half of the club and the text half of AC's stake, so half of a half is a quarter. Know it's not the same people who write them but hardly sounds solid. Still, never a dull day at Odsal.

| I don't see this as a bad story.
People wanting to invest or even buy the club looks more like good news.
Why should the owner tell us everything? It is his business and nothing to do with us till it comes out in the correct manner - not by the press association and twitter.
We all feel something is going on in the background and no doubt there will be the drip, drip of information till we get the whole story. I expect there will be a big story breaking in the next 12 months.
As for saying no to 4 investors we have no idea who they are and what they are offering. People are assuming a lot and taking it as fact at the moment.
Whoever is funding the club this season must have put money in and have clearly had a bagful of problems to get over so why should they take the first offer when they have done the hard work.
In my eyes there is something happening in the near future so why would I take peanuts or let someone else come in that I don't want - unless I do want Mr or Mrs K in with me.
Maybe Chalmers was tempted to do the last 7 months of work and was tempted to try and get £750k and go home.
Whatever the truth we were saved from oblivion and are now getting offers of new owners/investment apparently. Most of us still believe there is a bigger plan for the near future (2021 maybe) so I am quietly optimistic that Chalmers and possibly a shadowy figure behind him saved us for a reason.
As far as Chalmers not saying anything, well, I don't expect him to as I wouldn't until it was sorted and needed saying. We are supporters but I spend much more at my local Esso station and supermarket and don't expect the chairmen of those companies telling me everything they are doing and then threaten to walk away if they don't keep me in the loop.
I expect us to find out when it is time however frustrating it is for us all.

| The other interesting thing to ponder is [iwhere[/i this story came from
If it was a private conversation between Andrew Chalmers and Marwan Koukash, which one of them then went to the press with it? I mean it is quite specific, it even has details of the amount that the club was valued at!

The original story had a comment via PA (but not a direct quote) from the Koukash side of things, so you'd have to suspect them.

It's just bad journalism. Half of AC's stake being £750k would value the club at £3million - which is only slightly more ridiculous than the original valuation of £1.5million.
EDIT - I've been informed that AC owns half and the other half is a holding company he and Lowe own, so who knows!

| Chalmers has more than likely offered them Lowe's share.
he would stay at the club?
There is some $hit stirring stories released about the Bulls from various quarters at the minute,
You can't beat a bit of a hate campaign.

| Well, FWIW, I emailed the RFL this morning to ask why the article was taken down from their website. I got the following prompt response;
[i"In order that our website rugby-league.com can deliver interesting stories to fans regularly it automatically pulls across stories from the Press Association feed relating to Rugby League.
We want rugby-league.com to be a place where news and stories can be relied on and therefore in order to stop speculative stories that might be factually incorrect appearing we have a system in place in which they are flagged to our team, unfortunately this speculative story, slipped through without our knowledge and was automatically published. As soon as a member of the team realised it had been published it was immediately removed."[/i

You are entirely right, of course, but you would hope an organisation relying on customers wouldn't take that approach.

| The whole business of 'keeping people in the loop' is a difficult thing to get right, to be fair, though I think comparing the Bulls to Esso is more than a bit on the daft side too.
I've often felt that some of the things fans expect to be told are way out of order. You can't conduct the business of acquiring players or bringing in finance, on social media. Fine, people feel the 'need' to know, but at the expense of losing the player or deal because the information got into the wrong (ie. a competitor's) hand? I'd guess not.
