It certainly does

| If Pete continues he should "certainly" contribute 10p to BullBuilder everytime he says it!

| I think most commentators can be annoying to be honest. In a fast flowing game like Rugby league, especially on radio, it must be very difficult to avoid dropping into clichés in all the non-stop action. The (I assume) much more highly paid commentators on TV can't avoid it, even when double and tripple crewed and at their much less frenetic pace.

| I agree Bulliac. All RL commentators have some cliches. Some more than others. I have a lot of respect for Ray French but he used to drive me nuts with all his cliches. I can now look back at them with affection:
"The 6 foot 2 inch, 15 stone ex Blackbrook, AMATEUR player!"
"He's a big lad he's a strong lad!"
"Has he got the legs to go all the way???"
"This is silly! No NEED for all 26 players to rush in there!"
"He's a real chunky nugget!" (Reserved for Andy Gregory).
"I used to play with his Dad!"
"These boots these days are like carpet slippers!"
Maybe Mick should get a few more cliches of his own?

| Haha, yes I used to like Raymondo - though like a few on the Beeb, he went on about ten years past his sell by date. Though, I have to say, he was nearly as good a comentator as he was player and he was on hell of a player in his pomp. Always get the feeling that TV has to be much easier than radio though.

| Mick is a good commentator, and a keen amateur journo.
He likes the attention of being the go to man for scoops of info .We all know he is often wide of the mark and many times he is so vague he is simply covering all bases to give the illusion of being in the know

| agreed, it's not the same, Mick is a good commentator, fuelled as noted above by being a fan too. Pete will improve though: there was one set against Fax when he hardly mentioned metres gained/ ptb position on field, so you had no idea whether we were struggling to get out of our 20 or threatening the fax line. Hobbo helped out from time to time too the first time they were paired, helping to paint the picture.

Speaking to a friend last night, he saw Mick at the ground on Sunday sat in the side stand with a few other Bulls fans.

| Mick is an excellent commentator no doubt. The praise for him is totally justified.
I would just comment a little on the words about Pete Dutton & Mark Hobson though.
I don't know the two well, but I know them a little. And first and foremost they are Bradford Bulls through and through. They absolutely love this club just as much, if not more, than most of you on here. (Mick does too by the way)
I haven't heard the commentary much this season, as I'm usually at the game. I haven't heard the last two games with Pete doing it for example, apart from a bit of the pre-match stuff. I can't say how good a commentator they are because of that. But I do know that they are essentially fans providing a service to other fans, and I think some of the criticiscm is a little harsh. They're not professionals, they're not paid the Sky Money (if they're paid at all) so to expect them to be up there with pro commentators is ridiculous. They're doing their best to talk about the club they love to other fans who feel the same. So maybe give them a break while they hone their craft a little?
By all means shout for the return of Michael, as he's excellent at the job But maybe the criticism of those others doing the job is a little too much.

I do agree with this. But even if they aren't great. Get the basics right for god sake. Oldham game the commentator called Davies Magrin. For god sake, Davies is white and Magrin is black. Not hard to distinguish. I could understand mistaking Magrin for Peltier (due to distance) or Davies for Kirk etc.
Not understanding the rules too. If Lilley kicks the ball from his own half and it bounces out in the opposition 20 and we get the ball back. It's not hard to realise it is a 40/20. Even at first glance I can appreciate getting it wrong but even after the ref gave a Bradford scrum the commentator kept saying "I'm not sure what happened there!".
I appreciate voluntary work a lot and I understand they are doing a service which benefits us who can't always make games. But
