How can they afford to do that? They're not going to receive any season ticket money, they're not going to receive hardly any central funding. Cash receipts for a team starting on minus 12 points is unlikely to be significant. So they're going to virtually bankroll a Championship club for a full season, with very little cash? If Green managed to run up so much debt despite season ticket money, how are they going to turn that round? They would have to have deep pockets to take on that sort of financial commitment, with very little guarantee that the club would be financially viable in 12 months time. It doesnt seem credible.

Agreed. Neither Lamb or Irvine are wealthy enough to be able to commit to any of that so someone else must be behind them or it's all hot air.
Given the penalties imposed on the club and the league we're expected to play in unless any new owner has a heap of money to lose a new club would be in administration again by the end of the 2017 season. A team of part timers that no club wants may be cheap but nobody will pay to see them get thrashed every week before inevitable relegation.
Given a choice between that and missing a season to start in Championship 1 in 2018 I choose the latter.

Indeed. It's an interesting one, given Green's approach of squeezing what he can out of the fanbase and crossing his fingers, that the RFL are taking a similar approach. I'm not sure what other choice they have, but I'm currently not feeling terribly incentivised to part with my hard earned to support what looks like an inevitably failed endeavour. Conversely, if I don't, will I have anyone to support in 2018 when it might actually be worth contributing?

Rather than have a season out of it, why not give it a shot in the Championship while recognising that relegation is almost certain. Accepting this it gives a year of running a rugby club, learning, raising funds and partners, in order to hit C1 in 2018 in much better position off the pitch, ideally have a plan for developing Odsal for some use beyond rugby league which in the long term is the only viable way to fund the club and with a plan to get back to the Championship in 1-2 years and SL in 3-4 years? The key thing is having a plan
That's what I'd be thinking. The money isn't there to meet fans' expectations, so fans' expectations have to meet the money....

| I don't see how we will raise funds, breaking even will be a start, we aren't in a position to start saving for a rainy day? It's already peeing it down

| Quote Sensei-Bull="Sensei-Bull"Let's just bin the Bulls and make everybody happy then. I'm OK with that at this very moment in time.'"
I think everybody within Rugby League wants a strong Bradford in the league,I don't think the RFL have done you any favors though for this season, you will really have to hit the ground running, though with no team, no coach at the moment that seems very unlikely, what will probably happen (hopefully not) you will be relegated so next season you will be in the position you would have been this, if the RFL had thought it through properly,I do think though that Bradford supporters have been really badly treated by their management through the years, lets not forget you do have previous for this 1962 i believe you were also liquidated, this has nothing to do with the supporters though it is purely down to greed and very dubious characters leading your club, the very best of luck, hopefully won't be to long till we welcome you back to Langtree Park for your annual pasting

If relegation is almost certain then it’s not really “giving it a shot” is it? It’s a forgone conclusion. How do you attract people to watch that? Nobody is obligated to go. Who will want to put their money into that? Now if you’re starting afresh in League 1 I can get on board with everything else you’re saying but I’m certainly not on board to watch a lame duck club get stuffed in every game just so fixtures are fulfilled.

Quote Sam94="Sam94"I posted the following earlier today , the decision to liquidate Bradford was known last night . The RFL did not want Gary to issue a public statement. The RFL sanctioned a buyer but Gary was not convinced at the authenticity financially .
"Bradford Bulls have now entered liquidation, it has emerged. Coach Rohan Smith did not wish to comment but is believed to be shocked. Joint administrator Gary Pettit licensed Insolvency Practitioner has claimed there were four serious bidders keen to buy the club, though all interest has ended. The Bulls debts are thought to be well over £1.4 million and they have had their RFL membership terminated . The RFL will make a statement later today ."
This statement was prepared last night but the RFL blocked it .'"
RHP confirmed what I posted yesterday " Up until lunchtime we thought it’d be saved and then we were told this. The final bidder pulled out last night (Monday) at 10 past nine and that was it.

And herein lies the problem. Block5Bull's idea is a sound one in theory. The only place it falls over is the income in 2017 will be next to nothing as no fans are going to want to go and watch that barring the ones who are only doing it to put money into the club.
Without a sugar daddy, the new club are in a horrible place from the get go regardless of their strategy.
