Quote: Bull Mania "How can anyone blame Marc Green FFS! No investment!!??
In 2014 i remember going to the first game at Odsal. The place was a skeleton, no barriers, a pile of dirt on the car park. The Bulls were dead. Green stated from the off he wasn't a multi-millionaire who could bankroll the club (there aren't many about unfortunately).'"
Indeed, the characters that attempted to run things immediately before Green took over were quite a shambles. Green certainly steadied the ship. When you're selling bits of the ground for scrap to make ends meet it's desperate.
I think criticism can be levelled at him for not resolving the Ferres/Lowes situation. Obviously lots of players were being signed with no corresponding improvement on the pitch. Ferres was meant to be the RL man in this situation. Surely he could see the warning signs? He handles the day to day running of the club and would see the bills piling up and the various close shaves with HMRC. Signing players every other week wasn't helping that situation. Maybe Green should've stepped in earlier.
I hope Green has some sort of contingency plan. Otherwise we're up the creek. I'd be surprised and disappointed if he hasn't. I can live with a cut to the playing budget to make us sustainable provided there is no cut to the academy since that's the thing that can give us a future.
