It is true that Mark does his BCB commitments for free, not to mention his company sponsoring games for the past two decades. But you can't let that detract from his heavy handed and uncalled for critism of the performance all the time.

Technical issues aside I thought Mick was excellent and will be good to hear him grow as the season progresses.

Apparently Jay Pitts just precautionary and is good to play on Sunday. Three out of three, long time since we've started a season so well.

It is very commendable that he does it for free. But as Pete says, that doesn't make him any good. I'm sure he's a champion bloke away from the commentary booth and he's clearly someone who cares a lot about Bradford Bulls. But that still doesn't make me leave the radio on when he's doing my tree in.

So Hobbo is like Ray French then. Loves the sport, nice bloke, good to have a chat with about the game but not born to commentate.

Ray French was pretty good on the radio. He just didn't have a clue about doing it on TV.

Totally agree with that - it was like two quite distinct people. Though the difference between how radio and TV [ishould[/i be commented on is also two quite distinct jobs, to be right. You can't just add a radio commentary to a TV match, for instance, you just don't need all that info when you're watching on screen.

Mick Gledhills commentary has been very professional and easy to listen to. As good a local broacaster as I have heard for a while.

Yeah, I'm waiting for Lord Lucan to come on and say how brilliant 'Hobbo' is, and how Mick is the new Ray Warren.
