| My main gripe is that he supposedly met with Jimmy last summer, and was either deemed not good enough to help us with the playoffs or we couldn't fit him under the cap (although the timing of Matt ryan joining us would be interesting). A sammut/gaskell partnership in the MPG would have been much more fun. We probably would still have lost, but more entertainingly....
But now, 6months have passed, and he is suddenly good enough for us again....

That's my opinion too, more or less. You never know with Jarrod, he's so off the cuff he could have won the game for us or gifted Wakey a couple more tries....you just never know.
I do know he's one of those precious few players who makes the pulse race, who does those amazing, totally unexpected things which leave you open mouthed, and who fill you with anticipation - sometimes, not [iexactly[/i fulfilled, of course but ultimately he's one of those individuals who make RL such an exciting game to watch.

| Let's face it. If he joined he'd be better than our last halfback.
He has his faults but beggars can'tbe choosers.

Best not to accuse him of being 'off the cuff'! That was suggested to both Paul Rowley and Rangi Chase in interviews for LCTV, about Chase's signing. They both came up with the same answer of him always playing 'within a structure' and being allowed to express himself within that structure. Chase, in particular, wasn't amused at being called an 'off the cuff' player!

Well that would make sense as I don't think that he's been able to drive since his wrist operations so getting to Workington wouldn't be possible. That would also explain why he has been training locally on his own (hill running and possibly Tong school).

| Last I heard was Phil Vievers say he was confident of keeping Sammut at Workington but as of mid November he hadn't signed for the club. Surely if he'd signed for next season this would be big news and Workington would be keen to publicise it. If only Jarrod would give us an idea and put an end to the speculation....as a Bulls fan I'd love to see him back at the club, but I guess we can only wait and see....

If he's had both his wrists operated on, perhaps he is currently physically incapable of signing anything?

Another way of looking at it is that perhaps Jimmy has had a reality check in that we are not as good as he thought

| I'm certain Jimmy knows the pros and cons of the squad, but brainfart after the last game excepted, he generally plays a straight bat and keeps to the company line with his comments. At the end of the day, the big challenge right now is selling memberships and that means saying how well everything is progressing and what a great squad we've amassed etc etc.
Add in that he can't comment on any ongoing, or not finalised deals, for fear of losing them at the last minute - plus they probably [well, I hope.. want another big spur to sales, and despite what others have said previously, Sunday - collection day- would be an ideal time.
