The winger (Danny Williams?) is only allowed to take the tap quickly if all your players are onside, and they weren't Danny Addy (I think) was offside and even held his hand up to say sorry.

I agree Cobb was dire, but that was the correct decision.

No that was the correct decision, but I was referring to one where James Clare took a quick tap after we has a penalty.

The ref actually did us a favour there. Clare would have made 20 yards at best with a quick tap. Instead we made 40 yards by kicking to touch.

If you know these things, could you post the next winning Lotto numbers for us? Clare could have made a break, or he could have passed and created a break. You don't know. Anyway the point is that it is just yet another example of Cobb fecking up, and depriving us of a legitimate chance to play and get on the front foot. Whatever would or might have happened, it never got the chance. Just one more major rick from the bulging Cobb catalogue.

Well if you want the actual reason why he stopped the play, it's because the referee has to give the mark first before you can do anything. Cobb hadn't given the mark before Clare tapped it and ran (Clare also took the tap from the wrong position).
The Widnes penalty was different in that they waited for Cobb to mark the spot and then tapped it from the correct position, so they were allowed to run it.

So no, it wasn't a Cobb 'feck up'.

Sounds like a lot of people have got a "Cobb on". Fair enough some of the refs are crap but until armchair officials put themselves forward it will ever be thus. If you can do any better get signed up!

We also appear to be clinging to ifs, buts and maybes with regard to promotion. I've said it before and I'll say it again we are not going up with Lowes in charge. We have no hope against Hull KR and I don't expect us to beat both Championship teams. No one should be surprised if we lose to Halifax.

Fact is that we've got a Championship side with a few SL players. You cant really do any better with the salary cap available so any chance of winning is remote.

You need a SL side to turn up like Salford but that's always going to be the exception.

We must get Gaskell back to have any hope of getting 4th or 5th. The next three games will be very tough and are all vs teams that have beaten us this season.

Doesn't seem like 'a Championship side' to my eyes, and certainly shouldn't be getting 56 points put on them at home against a side that couldn't make the Top 8

Yes the team does have a lot of players that have played super league but I still believe the issue is the 23 rounds of championship rugby those players played which was nothing more than a very long preseason in terms of preparation for 8's. It doesn't offer enough intense build up for games against super league sides. I know we beat Salford but I think after the Wakefield result they vastly underestimated us and never recovered.
