On the basis that you don't choose a captain unless they'll more than likely play every game and a fair few minutes of each one, we can assume that Chev is getting an awful lot more game time than the majority of us were expecting.

Whatever we might think about his ideal place in the pecking order, I don't doubt for a second that Chev will put his heart and soul into the role.

We can assume, unless there's a complete disaster, he won't be playing prop or centre.
And from the comments in the T&A, Peterson & Addy seem to think they're competing for the LF slot.

So that leaves one of the 3 2nd row slots in the matchday 17. (or possibly 4 if AoB is trusted to be an 80minute hooker, we may not need an interchange hooker...)

So If Chev is going to get the nod for a 2nd row slot most weeks as captain, that leaves a lot of players fighting it out for the other couple of positions.

It's odd having this number of players. I'm not used to it. The last couple of years you basically selected the 17 least injured people and put them on the pitch!

Don't forget it is still the off season. By the start of the season we could have 10 waiting for operations.
