| if mrs. k does win the bidding I hope we aren't re-branded and made to wear silly hats and long shirts and called the Kou Kash Klan. whoever wins though lets hope it is the last of the drama that has been going on for far too long and we can get back to the rugby, it really is very boring at the moment.

| Quote TheButcher="TheButcher"Let's get the Koukash facts correct first. He hasn't bemoaned anything. He's been working hard in communities to get new and lapsed fans back through the turnstile. He's been saying that he needs the support of the Salford public to be the final key into the rebrand. So far that's happened with two record crowds at the AJ Bell. He hasn't moaned about fans at all.'"
I never said he did moan about the fans but the size of the crowds, all credit to the Dr for investing in the club and trying to build it up. But to be serious about competing at the top of the league even the 7102 recent record gate a long way from numbers at Wigan and Leeds the clubs he hopes to challenge - and I think your average is still behind your "partners" Sale who don't have the benefit of local derby matches against clubs just a few miles away.
But the size of gates is a major problem for nearly every team in the league and their aspirations.

| Quote Ferocious Aardvark="Ferocious Aardvark"Nobody is now going to wipe off the debts, not Koukash, not Richard Branson, nobody. The RFL saw to that with the 6 point penalty, prior to which the leak from the administrator indicated a proposal to repay 100% trade creditors.'"
Didn't Solly say that should all creditors be paid off, we would be able to appeal against the points deduction? It was buried in one of the recent T&A articles, though I can't remember off hand which one.
As long as whoever is buying us has the finances to do so, surely it would be in the best interest to pay off the creditors and go for the points being given back? I can't see why Solly would mention it if it's wasn't a pretty strong possiblility.
I mean the deep cynic in me is say that he's done it as a convincer to get someone to shell out, only to turn around and say "lol joke, you're not getting your points back" but I'm pretty sure that's just me being paranoid after all the s**t we've been through.

If he did is irrelevant, as no sane person would make such payments on some future off-chance.

The possibility I don't see is anyone writing a cheque to pay off the old club debts and the RFL made clear they won't accept a "promise to pay" so stalemate.
Another thing I don't see is at some point well into the season, the RFL suddenly announcing that in light oif £x paid back to old creditors the league table is now revised, and the bulls have shot upwards by 4 or 6 points. Now THAT would cause apocalypse then - and rightly so.
If a new owner in short order paid off all the old debt and in return the deal was a points reinstatement then whilst there might be a temporary fuss, most would see it as not unreasonable, but as i see such events as impossible, it won't happen, and I can't imagine it being acceptable to reverse the points after any delay, much less at the business end of the season.
All of which convinces me the points once gone, were gorrrrrrrrn.

I think the RFL would be properly stuck if that did happen as no doubt, Dr would tweet that he has offered to pay the creditors but the RFL had turned it down and refused to re-instate points, they would lose a lot of face which at this point i time they can't risk.
So I think they would have to give something back, I think it would be four points and we would lose 2 for going into admin, but atm we don't know whats will happen so watch the space.

| Does this mean we will have horse racing around the track at half time? Duckman can have one of those blackboards and a box to stand on while he waves his arms about shouting the odds.
If true, I hope he keeps Franny and gives him a chance with some real money to spend. I have just heard that Sammut and Scruton have choked on their breakfast after hearing the rumours.

No I agree about the whole promise to pay thing. If I were them I would be giving the point back on a promise either, false dawns and all that. We'd presumably have to do it first and appeal after all debts are paid. I guess it depends if the buyer (whoever they turn out to be) are both willing and able to take the chance. No guts no glory

Agreed, now that he's said it, if someone does come in and pay it all he's backed himself into a corner and I can't see how he'd be able to go back on it really.
I'd be surpised if we got all 6. I imagine like you that they'd keep 2 for going into admin the the first place. But even so, getting 4 points back would be a massive boost for us.

| IF we are bought by Mrs K, the points will be an issue for the play-offs, not relegation.
