Hudders are well off for forwards so hopefully we might be able to negotiate a longer deal. Let’s face it we need him and extended game time would be good for him and hopefully enable him to iron out his weaknesses. There’s not many other options.
He can lose composure and over play at times but maybe that’s down to enthusiasm and maybe a bit of nervousness about wanting to make an impact. Alternatively he might just be a doylem.
It's the sheer physical presence of Mullally which impresses me rather than any particular skills. If he runs hard he will take some stopping and will take a lot of gas out of the opponents who have the job of stopping him and it is something which we have been definitely short of, imo.
As someone said further up the thread we haven't had that sort of presence in the pack since Elima left, and, of course, he used to give penalties away too, but I guess it goes with the territory.
A lot depends on what happens when we are ratified. We can then start Visa applications and sign players fully. Who knows what Franny has lined up when he gets the go ahead to spend the wages of Sammut and Carvell? I also like Mullally and I think Bridge is handy in the second row. We need Fergusson fit asap to give us some more choice.
I still think if we keep Mullally we need another prop as we will get injuries to two of them before long - it always happens in all teams. 6 props are needed to be safe.
When it was rumoured we were getting players from Hudds as a result of Koppygate I was hoping if true that Mullally was on his way as plenty of potential yet down the pecking order. certainly adds the bulk we need, Bridge likewise in back row where he looked comfortable.
