Yeah, pretty much doubles up as the student union bar now.

The Westleigh used to be great, granted about 15-20 years ago (showing my age now), I even worked behind the bar for a period when my mates mum and dad ran the place for a fair few years.

It's definitely a lot better than it was, say 5 years back, when it was grim.

I used to spend a lot of time in there too, about 20 odd years ago! Glad it's looking up, always liked it as a pub.

I was a regular in there from about 91-96. We might all have been there at the same time and never known!

Probably. I was there a lot in those days, as well as in the Shearbridge (more likely) and MacRorys.

Our paths almost certainly crossed in one of those back in the day. I had more hair then...

Absolutely delicious curry in the Bharat on Great Horton Rd on Wednesday night. Had Petisse for starter, (sort of deep fried spicy coconut and potato ball) really really excellent. Then chicken methi for main, lovely but the methi/fenugreek smell is coming out of every pore even now. Mrs Bullseye had a mixed veg dish with okra, potato and spinach done Madras strength. Was really tasty.

Spooky. 92 onwards was my era. Though as I wasn't a student & found them annoying little scrotes I used to like MacRory's which was favoured by the Arch Sci intelligentsia, the department where the tigress worked.

MacRory's was great. It's a sad sight now looking utterly derelict. I remember some great graffiti on the bog door:

"I SHALL NOT REST UNTIL I SEE THE LAST COMUNITARIAN HUNG WITH THE ENTRAILS OF THE LAST BLAIRITE!"

and then underneath:

"what a load of pseudo intellectual b0ll0cks".

and then underneath that:

"Inky pinky ponky"
"Daddy owned a donkey"
"Donkey died"
"Daddy cried"
"Inky pinky ponky".

back to the curry guide...give K2 on lumb lane a go...very tasty curries and the best chappaties in town.....

I like the fact that I will almost certainly have spent time with Debaser and Bullseye back in the Westleigh in the early/mid 90s.

You wouldn't be saying that if you actually had recollection of meeting them.
