| In fact, haven't they already said that the playing staff are ring fenced and that savings will be made elsewhere first?
Which seems the sensible way of doing things, after all, how can you raise any money if no one wants to come see a team of no hopers who get tonked nearly every week? That business plan certainly hasn't worked for London.
The club need to get people through the gates. The reduced season ticket deal would have worked but for the fact that, IMO, it was TOO cheap. Clearly, the club had the idea that people would buy the cheap ticket and turn up every week to spend money and thus make up the short fall. However, it seemed more like people bought the cheap ticket and just turned up at the games they felt like.

| Quote: gutterfax "I questioned the claim that the 3 main areas of profitability were the shop (been there a while), the Coral Suite (been there a while) and Summer concerts (3 announced for 2013, 1 happened, it lost 6 figures). Are you saying that I was wrong to throw doubt on the viability of such a robust business plan
So where can a club make money beyond selling tickets? I know as a London fan, the idea of a club making money is completely alien to you, but some of us haven't had our consistent hemorrhaging of funds underwritten by someone with more money than sense.
A club shop with a good array of stock is a good way for any sporting club to make extra cash. People are willing to buy more than just replica shirts as long as what the club offers is good quality. The Bulls shop hasn't had the best range in recent years, but changing that up could see it turn a profit.
As said before, Odsal is a huge drain on resources at the club. Finding ways for it to pay for it's upkeep has to be a top priority for whoever's in charge of the club. So why shouldn't things like concerts be considered? Or opening up the Coral stand for use other than on matchdays?

| Quote: roofaldo2 "So you question the wisdom of trying to get more money and use out of Odsal? It's an old stadium and he upkeep is one of the biggest weights round the club's neck but the ground is barely used over a year. Maybe 13/14 afternoons over the summer. But the rest of the year, it sits empty. The idea of hosting concerts is not a bad one, especially if they're held at points were the Bulls have a large gap in the calendar with no games as they had this year gone.
But please, show us your questions because all I remember you putting were snide comments about the acts rather than anything actually constructive'"
Roofy, if people have decided to ignore a troll it's probably best not to quote the said troll as it defeats the object. Just saying!

| It's obvious from today's T&A article that the support staff for FC has been dramatically hit by the budget cuts. When they've served their notice (mid January) FC admits it will be a problem to cope without them. I would not have thought these are the type of jobs which could be covered by volunteers. I haven't seen any reports regarding which posts have gone- I may have missed it. Does anyone know?
In the article FC discloses there have been approaches for players and he cannot sign anyone (including Evans) until people leave. Monday's RL Express suggested London have their eyes on Bulls players specifically mentioning Sammut and also that some new players were already signed--by the Broncos not the Bulls
