So notwithstanding the ironic put downs, or indeed the absence of any real substance in the article itself, is there a tinge of concern that Carvell may be seeking to bale out? Or is it just wishful thinking by fans of those clubs who missed out first time around, hoping to have a second chance of signing him up? (vested interest declared!!!).

There have been two posters on our own website suggesting he is desperate to get out of the deal, but I can't see how they know (he is a good mate of Jon Clarke but that doesn't mean much). Certainly the article in the Yorkshire Post is a bit lacking in hard facts.

I suppose its a wait and see situation, he is currently contracted to you for the next two years and I guess that is how it stands until or unless something happens to change it!

Unfair comment that Northus... especially if you knew what exactly went on at Hull during those contract negotiations. I would bet my house that he won't go to Widnes for one of the reasons he left Hull in the first place.

Spoke to someone who knows him well and from what I can gather he's just keen to clarify the situation, especially in light of all the negative press that the club has been given.

Fully expect his to be wearing RAB next year but as with anything... who knows???

Wasn't suggesting that we would be favourites to sign him if he did pull out of his contract will the Bulls (I assume that he rejected us before signing for you anyway, but again I dont know for certain we were in for him). Props of his quality and experience are few and far between, so I would expect a flurry of activity should his position change and we are always very cautious with the purse strings. If there is some baggage (presumably with Mr Rule) then that clearly will not help our cause!

So 3000 season tickets sold so far. If Ryan is happy with that number, and is ahead of their expectations, then fair enough. He is certainly in a better position than me to judge.
I'm a current ST holder - my entire family are for that matter - and we haven't had any correspondence from the club asking us to renew our STs yet. Fair enough I get the odd generic email, but surely my details must be on their records somewhere and I should be red flagged as a current ST holder who has yet to renew - why aren't they hounding me to buy a 2014 season ticket?
No phone call, no mail shot, nothing.

Now in my case it doesn't really matter because I am definitely going to renew, but how many other current ST holders are out there who are still in two minds that could be persuaded if they received a quick phone call from the ticket office or a letter in the post?

I appreciate that mail shots don't come cheap, but I'm not sure that articles in the t&a are enough marketing alone to do the job.
