Actually, for DG, Sheffield Eagles Ltd (as was) took over the assets of Huddersfield rlfc. You will see that the current Huddersfield club used to be Sheffield Eagles. But, as DG admits, the net result was rather like the Gateshull "merger", with pretty well all the advantage going to Huddersfield. Taking advantage of a vulnerable club like that, its the sort of conduct you would more expect to see with...lets see, a good example might be the more disreputable payday lenders?
Must admit, I'm really glad our main sponsor is the country's largest, long-established sub-prime lender, not something like an offcumden dodgy payday lender. And was not involved in, for example, selling dodgy home income plans to vulnerable pensioners. Must be horrible knowing the baggage that comes with some club owners, eh?
