Brian Hogan....now there was a barmpot if I ever met one. 100 sheets to the wind that guy but I have to get this off my chest, and thanks for the opportunity... Quite a few years ago, I played in a Bradford Amateur team (Fairweather Green)and we went to somewhere (Rochdale ?maybe..to play another team in the cup) and I saw that my idol, Eddie Tee's was playing for them. During the match he went around and punched everyone, even me and even kicked one of the very young lad's, he went from Hero to absolute zero, (he did not need to do that as he was still an excellent player)..I hated the guy, scumbag, to do what he did.. I've had this hatred for him for years...now it's off my chest...(I hope he does not come looking for me) Otherwise the team had some really good players in it then, and true, Kel Earl was the fastest Prop I have ever seen, but he NEVER could catch the Ball, ever, period..shame really..

I was lucky enough to be at Keith's first game. Eddie Tees had slung his hook and Keith - just 16 - was brought into the first team. I remember his first kick at goal. The crowd was silent - nervously wishing him to do well. We needn't have worried. He went on to score 27 points in the match and a legend was born. In the same match Arnie Long ran in 5 tries. Never seen that from a prop before or since but, sadly for Arnie, he was somewhat over shadowed.

The arguments about Keith's pace matter not. The game has changed but he was the best I ever saw. All you can be is as good as you can be when your time comes. Keith played the game with calmness and modesty and was a true sportsman. When you see some of the sportsmen who recieve MBEs and the like it makes it a criminal shame that they seldom go to the ones who deserve them most.

I saw that match too, the most interesting thing about it, in a way, is can you imagine a sixteen-year old getting brought into the first team today?

I saw the match as well, who would have believed he would have gone on and played nearly 600 matches of such a high consistency, I believe he was only substitute on a handful occasions and most of those in the latter years. For a 16 year old to become a permanent fixture was amazing. A true legend no wonder fans call him Sir Keith.
