Quote: Bulliac "Strange story in the T&A today (Mon) saying that the Kopczak contract problem is holding up other deals, naming amongst others Ainey's re-signing. I can understand, to some extent, why it might impact on singing another prop, though we're still short in that department even if Koppy doesn't move (and I can't see him playing for us again anyway, to be honest, however the legalities pan out). I doubt that Koppy was on mega-money either so I wouldn't expect it to be a money problem either.....Mmm, strange.'"
As I've said before he obviously doesn't want to stay so let him go and wait and see if there's any financial gain out of it in the long term with regard to compensation or whatever. In the meantime his wage is a set amount to sign other players.
I suspect it's if he has to stay it's less money to pay the OOC players what they may be worth so it could be holding up a decent offer to other players as they don't know if they still have to pay his wages. As he had already signed a lengthy contract which would have ended next year I suspect his actual wages are fairly decent to make him sign a few years in the first place.
Or maybe I'm just confusing myself
