Quote: DenisJ "Well I spent six weeks on Work Placement with him and he never stops.
He looks after the Media on a daily basis - that's sky, BBC, radio etc. Hosts the weekly Press conference at Tong. Writes and distributes Bulls Eye. Organises the Press on matchday at Odsal. Looks after the Press lounge and the aftermatch press con. Sorts out the Facilities in the press box, Updates the stats to give out to the media and deals with the photographers. While i was there a leading rl journalist told me he was the best in the game and in all his years at the club had never failed to return a call or failed to get the interview he needed. He also sorts out the Pre season media day, which is a nightmare! He updates and writes most of the stuff on the website and facebook and he edits the matchday programme a well as writing a large part of it.
He also does the Football managers role. He deals with the UK Border Agency - he is the only person at the club licenced to so that. That is a most important role because of you mess up the club can lose its licecene to employ overseas labour. he arranges all the fixtures and the changes, sorts out the clubs relationship with the drug agency - clubs have to let them know where the team is everyday. deals with the RFL on Salary cap, discipline- he goes with the players when they are called up - sorts out all the player's contracts, registrations. He also send in the squad every week. He arranges travel to away games, both here and to France and he attends all the clubs home games at all levels. On First Team days as well as the media he is the direct liaison with the match commissioner and stands by the dug out. he is in charge of that are and calls ambulances etc. He writes out the official teamsheet to hand in prior to the game and looks after the two way radios. He sorts out all the Player appearances throughout the year
He now has another job as well. He is Player Welfare Officer. He told me that involves sorting our education for the players as well as liaising with something called Sporting Chance. He was very active in that role when he was volunteering.
He is also a Trustee of the Bulls Foundation.
I am sure if you asked him to outline those things further he would be happy to invite you up to Odsal. He is there most days and during the season that can be seven days aweek as well as late evenings. He also handles all the Emails that come to the club.'"
Where does he put the broom?
