| So your not a Leeds fan but slag me off, Implying I dont have a brain or am a t as you put it yet you imply that most Leeds fans are happy with the standard of rugby being displayed under coach Mcdermotts tenure then tell us in your next post he was booed when shown on the screen by the very fans your implying are happy with the standard of rugby Doesnt really make sense, the booing would imply your wrong and despite winning 2 of the 4 available trophies most would say they won inspite of the coach having been such a successful group of individuals before Mr Mcdermott took the reins as it were

| I know Cummins is inexperienced, but he's always been very loyal - both as a player and coach. Your side started to gel together really well through all the recent troubles, and a lot of that will be down to friendships strengthened in adversity. Going to a new coach from outside could damage that in the short-term, whereas you'd think the players would feel that they owed Cummins some loyalty given he's stuck around without being paid.
I'm not suggesting that is the only criteria for a head coach, but you can't buy that sort of bonding within the squad and with the coach. I've seen teams with nothing much but team spirit do very well indeed - and teams full of big names do nothing as the one thing they lacked was team spirit.

Quote broadybull87="T&A" When administrator Brendan Guilfoyle made the entire coaching staff redundant on July 2, Cummins was contacted by former Bulls coach Brian Noble about the prospect of working as his assistant.
He turned the offer down and came back into position along with Potter, albeit on an unpaid basis, for the remainder of the campaign. '"
The article does not say (inter alia) how soon after the sackings the approach took place, although some will be aware, but regardless of that the above suggests what you are looking for is unlikely?

I thought it was consistency? Or consistancy if you are from Wigan.

| we've been down the road of an inexsperienced english coach from within before. it didnt work.
It can only work if Franny gets shut of the backroom staff (are they actually employed anyway?) and starts afresh with his people, or people who the club put in with some sort of pedigree of being part of success and/or excellence.
Johh Kear wouldve been good, as would Karl HArrison or Nobby, or even Daryl Powell or MArk Aston. These are all British and relatively toung, albeit vastly more experienced of working to a tight budget and spotting cheap talent tha Fran is.
Having said that, whoever gets the job has my 100% support.

| A lot of people seem to think St Hilaire isn't up to the job. Not sure what they base it on other than he was around when McNamara was in charge and we were playing much worse. Any improvement since much have been down to others then...
