I was expecting more comment on Bob Stott and his association with Morrisons (oh the irony). I'm pretty sure he's a Bradford lad....... for now.

| Good luck for today, and hope you are still in SL next season.
Think the RFL are posturing and will accept 1 of the 2 bids on the table, but need to be seen to be gaining some concessions to save face. If not resolved today expect a further deadline extension.
Only the Sun I know, but stated that RFL have agreed to pay players wages until November (apologies if this has already been mentioned)

| Quote jockabull="jockabull"Agree they should get their money back but why upfront? RFL had agreed to a market rate rent which would eventually have got them their money back. So long as we at least match that rate of repayment then the RFL are in no different a position than they agreed to earlier in the year.'"
The RFL gave the club the money up front, even before they took hold of the lease.

| Quote paulwalker71="paulwalker71"I really don't see ANY consortium being willing to pour £3million into the club without having the lease for Odsal. Otherwise how could they ever generate any money to create a stable and viable business going forward?
But then I'm sure we all figured this out ages ago -[size=150 quite why the RFL haven't worked this out yet, and are prepared to end up with a big hole in the ground as their 'iconic' investment - is still to be revealed.[/size'"
Maybe they have a cunning plan to sell the iconic hole in the ground to Wastefield. A ready made, no work required, hole in the ground should be just up their street.

I hope the RFL give the equivalent in cash to the other SL clubs, seems only fair that all clubs receive the same amount of cash!!

Typical borrowers response! Gimme Gimme Gimme.
Maybe the RFL should stop loaning money to clubs so that they can sink on their own terms, rather than the RFL trying to keep them afloat and taking an asset instead of a payment.
Do we know what the ABC offered for the ground???
£1? or £1.2 million???

Close. They gave the balance after an amount owed on a loan was deducted. I think the club believed they had agreed a payment agenda but the RFL took it from the lease money. That along with the bank calling in the credit facility and historic debts ( I think tax due on 'image rights', paid some years previously) suddenly becoming due all at the same time are what brought the situation to a head. That, at least is how it was presented at the time.

| Ferocious A-- my apologies for misunderstanding your Widnes comment.
Still no news from journalists either printed or TV/internet.
All the relevant parties are strangely and infuriatingly silent.
