I think he'd be a good short term option. We need another three quarter. I think Keith Senior and Adrian Purtell would be quite a imposing force on the right for 18 months or so. ATEOTD, We don't have a junior back knocking the door down so I don't see what the problem would be signing a tough experienced campaigner that would add some steel to the defence on Whiteheads side. He'd also be able to pass on his experience and knowledge to any hopeful backs we have, not sure who the potential lies with in the junior sides though.

Good point, never crossed my mind. Maybe we should offer Crookes 2 contracts for next year - a relatively modest one for playing services and his company gets a larger fee for his "try-scoring consultancy services"

Certain clubs (I will refrain from naming the obvious) have done this for years, along with the very, very obvious brown envelopes. Ultimately, it's nigh on impossible to monitor/stop and indeed, UEFA will face the same enforcement problems in a couple of years.

Crookes should be retained, but I fear his head may have been turned by Mr Pearson. Who can blame him, we only live once.

Purtell and Senior would be better than Purtell & Lulia.

If we sign him it would be a bigger embarrassment than going into administration. He hasn't played a game in 18 month and has had a serious knee injury. Oh yeah he's well passed his retirement age. How on earth do we think he's going to fair. Haven't rated him for about 5 years.

No i would go Kear Purtell Lulia Crookes. Ainscough as back up. I doubt very much he's going to be able to play top flight rugby anymore. Too old, been out of the game too long and hasn't played since his injury.
