Whatever we might feel about the circumstances of his departure and the fact he now plays for our fiercest rivals, it is a well deserved honour for both him and the game IMO
Fantastic player for us, my feelings have moved past club rivalry and he thoroughly deserves it. Congrats Jamie, but i still think you should have played in the NRL!!!!!
Excellent news, glad our sport gets some recognition. Jamie deserves credit for always puttting international RL highest on his agenda. For a while a lot of nailed on internationals would get to the end of their Super League seasons then have operations that they said couldn't be postponed any longer. Jamie has clearly gone through the pain barrier to play for his country and thanks to players like him playing for England seems be the honour it should always have been again.
I'm glad it's him if a Rugby League player was going to get an MBE. Also it's good that the sport get's recognition in the mainstream media and from the establishment.
But the new years honours list is a load of crap isn't it? Make a fortune from short selling and all you have to do to then get a knighthood is give Cameron some readies.
